EastEnders star Barbara Windsor has revealed that she is trying to convince Ross Kemp to make a Walford comeback.

The actress, better known as Peggy Mitchell on the BBC One soap, admitted that she misses working with Kemp, who played her on-screen son Grant.

"I was talking to him the other day and I was speaking to him about EastEnders," Windsor explained at a press event for the show. "I would love him to come back and play Grant again but he's so busy with other projects, in Afghanistan and everything."

Windsor also confirmed that she was thrilled when John Altman agreed to return to his role as Nick Cotton on the programme.

She said: "He is a fantastic actor and such a sweet man."

Would love for him to come back

Woopy Doo. Just what Deadenders needs is for another pointless Mitchell to return. Of course Beetroot Man was able to return in a totally unbelievable storyline so I would put nothing past the EE scriptwriters.

Im not actually against Ross Kemp as I really enjoy the work he is doing with our troops in Afghanistan in highlighting the appalling conditions our so called politicians have placed upon him.

Grunt Mitchell is now a pointless character.

When is the poison dwarf going to change the record. She has been moaning about wanting Ross to return as Grant for years. It aint going to happen. Grant has made a career for himself away from Eastenders unlike many who have appeared on the show. The only reason she wants him back is to ensure that she gets decent plots sooner or later Babs is going to be axed from the square and she knows that.

The sooner the better in my opinion. She cannot act her way out of a paper bag. She is so overrated she actually believes she can act. All she was good for was flashing her boobs and smutty laughing in the Carry on films.:thumbsdow

If she is so desparate to work with Ross Kemp again, why not send her to Afghanistan.

I know there has been a lot of 'will he' or 'won't he' regarding Ross Kemp returning to EastEnders as Grant Mitchell, but according to the latest issue of All About Soap it has a 2009 comebacks feature and Ross Kemp is apparently rumoured to be returning as Grant for Peggy and Archie's wedding day.

Also, Ross has said recently he wants to return to acting in 2009, so maybe this is a hint he will be going back to the square at some point this year.

Ohhhhhhhh yeaaaaa bring him back,,, that would really shake up things for Ian and Jane too,,
I have to agree with some one who said Ross has gone on and made "something" of himself, Not sure if returning to EE is exactly what he had in mind ...:searchme: when he said he wanted to return to ACTING:confused:

I wonder how much Babs Windsor paid to have the magazine print that story. She really will do anything to get Ross back on the show to save her bacon. There is no way Ross is going to return to EE in the near future. He has made a successful name for himself away from the square unlike many of his ex co-stars. He doesn't need the work or the money.

although he might not return full time, if it was just for the wedding epi it would make it more realistic

As he lives in Portugal with his daughter, he might not be able to take her out of school as they probably have not got school holidays then.

He's not coming, he's having way to much fun playing with big guns and tanks. He's sending Shane Ritchie in as a stand-in for him.
