In Coronation Street, the Windass clan - Eddie (Steve Huison), Anna (Debbie Rush), Gary (Mikey North) and Len (Conor Ryan) - arrive on the Cobbles and take root in the Mortons' old house.

After ridding themselves of Teresa (Karen Kenthorn), who decides to barricade herself in the house and claim squatter's rights, they come face-to-face with the Platts. It's not exactly the welcome the Windasses had expected, but Anna hopes she can set the situation straight with Gail (Helen Worth) as soon as possible and suggests that both families go for a drink. David (Jack P Shepherd), Joe (Reece Dinsdale) and Tina (Michelle Keegan) aren't pleased in the slightest.

Yep, they are replacing the Mortons. If the viewers don't appear to take to them, will they also get the sack as quickly as Jerry and co? :hmm:

THE wayward Windass clan start warring with their neighbours just minutes after moving into their new home.

The wild family have bought the house next door to Gail and David Platt.

And from the moment the two families come face to face they start screaming abuse at each other.

Windass mum Anna tells arch-rival Gail she’d rather sleep rough than live next door to her family, prompting Gail’s boyfriend Joe McIntyre to leap to her defence.

Lazy dad Eddie Windass, his thug brother Len and son Gary also join in with the insults as they confront David and his girlfriend Tina McIntyre.
And as our dramatic picture shows, there is a Mexican-style stand-off as both families refuse to back down.

A Coronation Street insider said: “The bitter feud between the Platts and the Windasses has been brewing for weeks.

“The Windasses refused to pay for the kitchen that Joe and David fitted and since then they’ve been at war.

“So imagine their faces when they realise they’ll be living right next door to each other.

“The Windasses have bought Jerry Morton’s old house, so we can expect many an exchange over the back fence.

“It’s going to be a complete nightmare for all concerned – but very entertaining for the viewers.”

Fans of the hit ITV1 soap can see the Windass family move into Coronation Street a week tomorrow.
