View Full Version : Better wed than dead

As befitting a man who had his love rival Liam bumped off, Tony Gordon is a ruthless and cold-hearted swine with nerves of steel.

And he’ll certainly need all those qualities on Wednesday when he marries his beloved bride Carla in a glitzy ceremony that’s as eventful as it is emotional.

She may have forgiven him for putting them £600,000 in debt because of his crumbling property portfolio, but would she be so understanding if she discovered he was behind Liam’s hit-and-run death?

Perhaps that California sun bleached her brains when she went to Los Angeles to grieve – and it’s a case of better wed than dead.

For she’s returned happier and has even had the sensitivity to replace the wedding dress she was trying on when Liam last ravished her with a new purple creation, even if scarlet is more her colour.

Meanwhile, that smirk is soon wiped off Tony’s dial. First, his brother Pat – who he claimed to have fallen out with so Liam could be his best man before – turns up.

Then Jed accosts him. ‘Stone. Nightingale Terrace,’ the old codger reminds him. ‘Or have you thrown so many sick pensioners out of their homes, dumped all their belongings in a skip and left them to die that you don’t recognise me?’

Tony may worry that either of these men could disrupt his happy day – or even that manipulative little minx Dozy Rosie – but it turns out to be none of them.

Instead, a drunken Kevin Webster spills food down Carla’s dress, then heckles Tony’s toast. And Snooty Sally is furious when the bride humiliates them all.

‘How dare she talk about my family like that?’ Sal fumes, having seen the video clip of Carla kissing Liam.

‘If people knew half the things that dirty cow has been up to… That two-faced, hypocritical tart!’ Spitefully showing Maria the clip has explosive results, turning this into what could be the soap wedding of the year – especially when a furious Maria goes after Carla.

‘The bitch was screwing my husband!’ Maria yells.

Wonder if it’s too late to get a refund on her wedding present, then…

From The Sun

I think Maria might just get the better of Tony in a while and justice for Liam's murder will only be a short while off.
