HEATH LEDGER's dad fought back tears as he paid tribute to his late son last night by picking up a Best Actor gong on his behalf.
KIM LEDGER described The Dark Knight star as his "beautiful boy" at the ceremony in Sydney, Australia.
He struggled to control his emotions at the GQ Men of the Year Awards, where Heath was honoured for his role as the Joker in the Batman Begins sequel.
Kim said: "He thrived everyday on set, humoured and sometimes intimidated the cast, but revelled in this opportunity to create and deliver a unique character."
HUGH JACKMAN was also at the prizegiving bash, nabbing the People's Choice Man Of The Year accolade.
