I am glad this week the judges don't get to choose - cos if Diana is in final 2 she would be saved - and I really can't stand her - as the weeks go on she does nothing for me - same old, same old - her left hand drives me mad and when she was asked why she sings in her bare feet - cos I like to feel the floor under me, what a stupid answer - we all like to feel the floor undrer our feet - otherwise we'd be flat on our back.

Britney Spears has made backstage demands about Winnebagos to X Factor producers, say reports.

The American singer, 26, apparently wants two large luxury motorhomes for her entourage. Take That, Mariah Carey and Girls Aloud only used one trailer when they appeared on the show.

Simon Cowell is allegedly offering his personal green room to Spears to give her more space.

A source told The Sun: "Even Mariah got ready in the caravan, although Simon also gave her his green room. He'll do the same for Britney."

Spears will perform her new single 'Womanizer' on Saturday's live show. Her album Circus is released on December 1.

BRIAN Friedman has let slip Britney Spears' performance on The X Factor will be circus themed – and that he wouldn’t be surprised if she sings with elephants on stage with her.
The show’s creative director – who has worked with Britney before – also said her performance will be one of her raunchiest ever.

He said: "She is going to be doing a massive performance. You know her album is called Circus, so we're going to be seeing a circus vibe coming in.

"I wouldn't be surprised if there were elephants because this is The X Factor - and we go big here!"

And Brian – who ‘lost touch’ with the star during her troubles last year – added:"She is such a sweet, endearing person. It will be nice to reconnect.

“Last year, I asked her to come and do X Factor but she was too hectic. This year it's happening. I'm so glad to see her back on track. Her performance is going to be incredible.

"She has gone from the Princess of Pop to the new Queen of Pop. Now she is claiming her thone.”

Long live Queen Brit!

Tabloid reports have claimed that Britney Spears is planning an X-rated performance for this week's X Factor.

The American popstar is attempting to lose half a stone and "sex up her act", according to the Daily Star.

Spears is determined to "outshine" the show's judges Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue and has allegedly resorted to extreme dieting to ensure that there are no comments about her weight.

"Her father and the people around her are trying to get her to eat more, but Britney is determined not to be criticised for having any extra bulk," said a source.

Spears releases her new album Circus on December 1.

X FACTOR contestants have been BANNED from meeting superstar Britney Spears when she appears on Saturday’s show.
Brit, 26, will perform new single Womaniser — but won’t give a masterclass to the finalists unlike Take That or Mariah Carey. Last night JLS star Aston said: “It’s going to be a closed set when she’s rehearsing so we won’t see her.”

Seems rather mean, would not have hurt anybody if the contestants could have had a quick chat.

X Factor hopeful Ruth Lorenzo has become popular with soap stars in her native Spain.

The finalist has reportedly impressed several Spanish actors and actresses who have been watching her exploits on the ITV reality show. They are said to have invited her out for drinks when the competition is over.

In this week's Britney Spears-themed X Factor, Ruth will reinterpret the popstar's Joan Jett cover 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll'. She will also sing an American song that the vocal coaches believe could deliver her best performance yet, along with a guaranteed place in the semi-finals.

The X Factor airs at 7.35pm and 10.15pm tomorrow on ITV1.

Sinitta has given her backing to Alexandra Burke to win The X Factor.

The 80s star, who is a former girlfriend of judge Simon Cowell, said she believes that Burke is the best contestant in the ITV competition.

"I would love Alexandra to win because I think she's amazing, won't embarrass us and will make us proud on the international stage," she is quoted as saying.

"But I believe Eoghan will win because he's cute and young and pretty. But I don't think he's the best contestant, actually."

Burke will perform Britney Spears's 'Toxic' on Saturday's live show.

I agree Bryan - Ruth and Alexandra were sensational tonight.

Still don't get all the hype surrounding Eoghan - once again he was drowned out by the background music in his second song. He is way out of his depth now, but the judges still say he's amazing... I really don't get it myself! Ruth, once again, doesn't get the comments she deserves - Simon saying she should get through as she puts in the best effort and determination.. she should get through as she's the best singer left in the competition along with Alexandra, if you ask me.

I've gone off Diana now completely. I think I found her style a novelty when the live shows first started but now I just find her performances rather boring.

Hit Me Baby One More Time was an awful song choice for JLS but they did better in their second performance.

Unfortunately, I think Ruth's time is up tonight and she'll be gone. I will still give her a vote though.

Ruth Ella-Kate Lorenzo became the eighth contestant to be voted off X Factor tonight.

The Spanish-born warbler, who managed to escape the judge's axe on two occasions, was kicked off the show after picking up the lowest number of viewer votes in the latest live round.

Lorenzo's impressive vocal range and emotional singing style earned plenty of compliments from the judges in the early rounds of the competition and her rendition of 'True Colours' in the judge's houses round brought Dannii Minogue and Emma Bunton to tears.

After performing a rousing version of Berlin's 'Take My Breath' in the first show, Lorenzo fell into trouble during Michael Jackson week, when she sang 'I Just Can't Stop Loving You'. However, her rendition of 'Purple Rain' in the sing-off was enough to see her stay.

Following successful performances of 'Summertime' and 'No More Tears' in weeks three and four, the PR consultant ran into trouble during Mariah Carey week. Lorenzo's take on 'My All' found her in the bottom two with show favourite Laura White, but thanks to an emotional performance of 'Knockin' On Heaven's Door', she survived once again.

As the competition went on, Lorenzo's confidence grew and in week's six and seven, she won the approval of the judges for her covers of 'Angels' and Take That's 'Love Ain't Here Anymore'. During Take That week, Lorenzo admitted to being starstruck by meeting Gary Barlow and Mark Owen.

During the course of the show, Lorenzo often faced criticism from Simon Cowell about not singing in her native tongue. The 25-year-old said that it would be "boring" if she sang in Spanish every week and claimed that she was looking for acceptance from the British public.

I want to hear lots more from her

Alexandra was the best performer tonight but Eoghon or Diana will still win they're getting the votes. Didn't see much of Britney's performance as Marley made a better door than a window copying her dance routine.

I agree that Alexandra was great, but Ruth was a close second.

Eoghon and Diana were both AWFUL, and JLS were no better. If anyone other than Alexandra wins now it will be a travasty - another one..

I think this show is stupid. I knew that Ruth would go eventually because of course all the other contestants have their cities backing them.

Ruth was the best by miles. Both her performances were great and the emotion in the second song. I really had a lump in my throat cos you could see how much the song affected her inside.

The only good singer in the competition now is Eoghan so if he doesnt win its ridiculous.

Diana just sounds the same in every song she sings. JLS were horrible last night. Cant beleive Louis gave them Hit me baby one more time. What was he thinking?!?!? Alex just sounds like a man and has a horrible voice.

Eoghan should win by miles.

This show isnt about who can sing though its about popularity and of course we knew that English people would not vote for a Spanish person to win. Just shows how people still stereotype people. Ridiculous.

First round - Songs by Britney Spears

Ruth Lorenzo - 'I Love Rock And Roll'

Louis: "Ruth Lorenzo, the sexy senorita, great start to show. I love Ruth Lorenzo, I love rock and roll!"

Cheryl: "I couldn't think of a better Britney song for you. It was lovely to see a big production for a change. You are definitely the rock chick of the show and I loved it."

Simon: "I hate to say it, I thought it was absolutely brilliant! Just so I can get my head round this, what has the bull got to do with it?"

Dannii: "You know how to do a bull fight! You've fought since the beginning! You've given up so much to be here. That song was fantastic for you, thank you, great opening to the show, hard spot to fill!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JLS - 'Hit Me Baby One More Time'

Dannii: "Getting back up there, this is the hardest week for you, a four part vocal and it's a tough week but you did a great job and you looked fantastic."

Cheryl: "You guys know I have supported you from day one but I'm going to be straight with you, that was a horrible song choice for you. For me, it didn't really work and that wasn't doing it for me."

Simon: "I would describe that in one word: limp. It was missing Ruth's balls. It was because it just needed an edge and the whole production was lame, the performance was lame and for Louis to choose this song before the semi-final is ridiculous, like I said in my VT."

Louis: "I picked the best Britney song because this is the best band we've had in the competition. I think you've been unfair, Simon."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexandra Burke - 'Toxic'

Louis: "Alexandra Burke, I said last week you're the best girl since Leona Lewis, if there is any justice you have to be in the final. I loved everything about it and you're living the dream. You have star quality."

Dannii: "That was one of Britney's most iconic tracks and I can't think of anyone better to do it. The dancers were amazing but you never let them upstage you."

Simon: "I have to say, to choose that song and routine the week before the semi-final was risky but it worked! By any standard, this was a great performance full stop. If we were going to vote on talent rather than popularity there is no reason why you wouldn't be in the final."

Cheryl: "I know we took a risk and you were unsure about it at the beginning of the week but that was absolutely fantastic. You make me the proudest mentor on the planet!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eoghan Quigg - 'Sometimes'

Louis: "Eoghan, on paper I didn't think it would work but it absolutely worked. I think you're the person that all those girls have to beat. You will be in the final: you have to be."

Dannii: "I didn't think it was the strongest performance for you tonight. I liked the High School Musical theme but I didn't like it as much as last week."

Cheryl: "It doesn't matter where I go or who I talk to, everybody loves you because you're so cute! I thought it was the perfect song choice for you and I really enjoyed it."

Simon: "I think all the guys are at a disadvantage tonight because it's Britney Spears songs. I think it was okay and I think we're lucky we have a second song tonight."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diana Vickers - 'Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman'

Louis: "Diana, I definitely think this song was a good choice. Every week you come out and do the same thing, though. You never do any dancing or anything. To have the X factor, you need to have it all. The other girls are more versatile."

Dannii: "It's not about dancing, it's about performance. I think you looked a bit uncomfortable until the second half though. I'd like to hear you sing out more."

Simon: "I think the dancing comment is ridiculous. It's not a dancing show. It's not Strictly or whatever it's called! For some reason, and I hate to say this, but it didn't work. I don't think your voice fitted the song. It should have worked but it didn't and I have to say, I'm worried for you tonight."

Cheryl: "She's not a dancer and there's no way I'm going to put my artist up there doing something she is uncomfortable with. The song was perfect for you and I think people forget you're only 17 and being up there and doing what your doing is scary and I have a lot of respect for you."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second round - American Classics

Ruth - 'Always'

Louis: "Ruth Lorenzo, you absolutely sung your heart out. Amazing performance. You are the rock chick from Espana! Don't be crying: it's all good!"

Cheryl: "I think I know where the tears come from because that came from the pit of your stomach. At times it was a bit shouty for me but you are one of the strongest in the competition."

Simon: "I'm not quite sure what was going on in the middle of the song but it sounded like fun! It was incredibly emotional. If we are going to award a place in the final for effort and determination, we've got to give it to you."

Dannii: "It was a fantastic, authentic rock vocal and that's the kind of performance you need to do to get in the semi final so well done!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JLS - 'You Light up My Life'

Dannii: "Well done guys! It's really hard to get back on that horse so congratulations. This is at the tough end and you sung very well. I wasn't too keen on the outfits, I have to say."

Cheryl: "I absolutely loved that song. The only one thing I do love is when you have a massive production like in Michael Jackson week. I sincerely hope you are here next week to bring that back to the show."

Simon: "I have to say you are back in the race. In my opinion, forget all the dancing nonsense, it's all about the song and the performance and you would probably have a hit record with that. You've really given yourself a shock. Congratulations."

Louis: "You deserve to be in the semi-final but the only way you're going to get that is by the public picking up the phone so I'm begging you: please vote!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexandra - 'Listen'

Louis: "Alexandra, that was incredible. It just doesn't get any better than that. You sing, you dance, you perform, you are the best singer in this competition by a mile. You've got it all."

Dannii: "Alex, with that you deserve to be in the final. Please vote for Alex!"

Simon: "Alexandra, this is a British competition and you made me very proud to be British tonight. It may sound like I'm favouring you tonight but you're 19, 20 years old and I know what this means to you. I like people who try and who are decent off camera, which you really are. I think taking into account every performance from the series so far, that was the best performance yet."

Cheryl: "I'm speechless. I'm so proud of you, Alexandra, and if I can't get you in the final it will be one of the biggest regrets of my career."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eoghan - 'All In This Together'

Louis: "Eoghan, that was very, very busy. It was a big production all round you and unlike some of the others in the competition, you always win me over. You can sing, you can dance. It was great!"

Dannii: "Tough week for you... That is how it should be done!"

Cheryl: "I actually wanted to get up on the stage and dance around with you! I felt like I was in the finale of a West End musical."

Simon: "We are in the semi-final. That was exactly what it's all about. You've got to put on a show and work with all the dancers. It certainly cheered up grumpy [Louis] to my left! The vocals were great, the believability was great. We're safe!"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diana - 'Everybody Hurts'

Louis: "Diana, that was one of my favourite songs. I preferred the second song but I still think that Alexandra and Ruth have the edge on you."

Dannii: "Everyone is different and you are doing the best with what you have and that's what you have to do. You were in it from the start to the end."

Simon: "I could feel your nerves just before the song started but I've got to tell you, that song may have just saved you because it was a million times better."

Cheryl: "You've proved tonight that you are a little fighter. I know you were crying five minutes ago but you came out and absolutely nailed that song. Well done you!"

James Corden has criticised Britney Spears for giving a "half-a***d" performance on The X Factor.

The singer mimed her new single 'Womanizer' on the ITV1 talent show's results episode last night. It was her first UK television performance in over four years.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor, Corden, who is best known for his role in Gavin & Stacey, claimed that Spears had been upstaged by the competition's finalists.

"They're all better than Britney Spears. I'm not lying," he told show host Holly Willoughby. "The song sounded great but I've already got the CD, so I don't really need to see someone come out and mime it.

"Here's a group of people not trained, not sold five million albums, not all that stuff, coming out singing live every week and being judged really harshly. Then out comes Britney Spears, mimes a sort of half-a***d performance of the thing and then leaves to go and play at Heaven tonight at midnight. I was just watching it going: 'You're still a bit mental'."

The results show also saw Spanish singer Ruth Lorenzo being eliminated after eight weeks in the competition.

I thought she was miming

Its all over for me, Laura and Ruth both out ! :crying: cant believe shes gone, by far the best of the night yet she still gets voted off! I don't understand why she never had the popularity as some of the others, she had an amazing voice and came across as a lovely woman, yet there was still no real hype surrounding her which is a shame :(

Very predictable song choice from Diana, Louis is right shes doing the same thing every week, ballady type songs and nothing else. I dunno what people see in her, shes nothing special imo. Unfortunately though it looks like shes gonna win it. Don't see the hype with Alexandra either, I dont think shes that great.

Britney, wasnt expecting her to sing live as she never does (well rarely anyway) but i was more disappointed with the talk to Dermot afterwards (all 10 seconds of it!) dunno whether its just me but I thought she came across as quite fake and uninterested? especially when she said about the contestants "good luck and just keep on doing it" you could tell she wasn't bothered one bit. However, its impossible to not love Womanizer haha!

X FACTOR’S Britney Spears night turned into a bizarre circus, The Sun can reveal.

Show supremo Simon Cowell was BANNED from meeting the star in her room by minders.

And he and judges Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue were forced to HUDDLE in a corridor to grab a photo with her.

When Britney, 26, performed her single Womanizer on the live talent contest, she MIMED . . . badly.

And she also SNUBBED contestants — by rehearsing in private and later revealing she hadn’t even watched them sing her hits.

Finally, she SCARPERED minutes after Saturday’s show and went to London’s G.A.Y. club. Britney — in a Rolling Stones T-shirt — failed to sing even though 1,500 fans chanted her name and gave her a cake for her birthday on Tuesday.

Her appearance on Saturday’s X Factor helped pull in 12.8million viewers — its highest ever rating.

But behind the scenes, her comeback album’s title Circus looked particularly appropriate.

Special guest Britney refused to use a Winnebago motorhome at the studios in North West London, like other stars. She was given Cowell’s green room as a dressing room.

After Saturday’s first show, her minders even sealed off the corridor outside. An insider said: “You have never seen so many heavies.

“Even around the judges’ dressing rooms was sealed off by Britney’s security people. When the judges went to meet her, her security wouldn’t let anyone past.”

When they finally met, Cowell asked the troubled star if she had seen the five acts perform her songs. Britney replied: “No”.

The insider said: “Everyone was stunned she admitted that she hadn’t watched the show. There’s a TV in the dressing room.

“Simon tried to have a conversation, but Britney was pretty vacant. In the end he just walked off.”

Host Dermot O’Leary was equally baffled when he asked Britney what she thought of the acts.

The singer — who jetted out of Britain last night — answered: “Yes, awesome, thank you.

“Amazing, I met so many different people the place is beautiful.”

Ruth shouldn't have gone, she deserved to be in the semi-final.. Diana needs to go! Her stupid left hand, bare footed antics annoys me.. And the way she walks when she has no shoes.. And of course her voice which still continues to annoy me..
JLS I think they did alright, Ruth & Alex did do better but whatever happens I hope JLS get a contract because I know I for one will defo. listen to their stuff!

Same here, I liked him but I think hes reached his peak and his voice to be is weaker than other and it would be ok if there was something different about his voice but there isnt

Simon Cowell has revealed that he believes Britney Spears was in awe of him when they met on The X Factor.

The judge told American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest on KISS-FM that he was so impressed with the singer's "buzz" that he wants to invite her on the American talent show.

Cowell said: "To be fair, and this may be a bit egotistical, I think she was in awe of me. She was just staring at me. I said 'Touch me, I'm human' and I think that broke the ice."

Spears's mimed performance of 'Womanizer' on the ITV1 programme, which was criticised by James Corden as "half-a***d", won the praise of the producer. "Of all the artists I have ever had on any of these shows, there was more buzz, more excitement for this girl [than anyone else].

"It was as if the president was on the show. I love it. I think if you're going to be a star, be a star," he said.

Is he perhaps a little tired and emotional after a hectic year?

X Factor star Diana Vickers narrowly escaped being eliminated from the competition last weekend, according to a report.

The Daily Star claims that axed singer Ruth Lorenzo was less than half a per cent behind the 17-year-old in the viewer vote.

Meanwhile, Alexandra Burke is said to have topped the poll for the first time in the competition, providing a rare setback for Eoghan Quigg, who has reportedly led the voting six times.

A show insider revealed: "Eoghan's been pulling in about a third of the votes in most weeks. He's still in the game but his fans can't get complacent. However, Diana's a lucky girl. She's got to pull her socks up."

Vickers's mother recently revealed that her daughter is "devastated" after facing criticism from Simon Cowell.

I know I'm in the minority on here but I liked Diana and if she hadn't taken the throat infection a few weeks back I think she would have been in the final.

I'm sad she is out, but she wasn't very good tonight at all. I still don't rate the Irish one at all, but his first song out performed hers, and their second ones were both crap. I'm torn between JLS and Alex now.

So sad when she got booted though, with the Irish one coming back on stage!! Aww, bless them.

Diana was nothing more than a one trick pony, I liked her in her audition and would have continued to support her if she hadn't carried on doing the same old thing every week. She wasn't versatile at all.
