Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly has revealed that she wants her character Becky Granger to have a long-term future with Steve McDonald.
Becky, who has previously dated Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas), ends up in a hotel room with Steve (Simon Gregson) in scenes to be broadcast next week on the ITV1 soap.
"Both boys bring out different things in Becky. With Jason, they liked going clubbing, and it was no strings attached," Kelly told We Love Telly! magazine.
"But I think Becky needs more than that, even though she wouldn't admit it. I think, long-term, Steve's better for her."
However, Kelly admitted that Becky does not share her optimism and feels "desperately" guilty about coming between Steve and Michelle (Kym Marsh).
"Becky's happy for it to be a one-off," she explained. "I think Steve wants more."
Pity the way they have turned her into a right old slapper :angry:
