E4 has announced the new characters that will be introduced in the upcoming third season of its popular teen drama Skins, says Last Broadcast.

Tony Stonem's younger sister Effy (Kaya Scodelario) and her best friend Pandora (Lisa Backwell) will be the only existing cast members to appear in the third series next year.

The new additions to the girls' lineup are Katie and Emily, twins with contrasting personalities, and the idealistic Naomi.

The boys are comprised of the charismatic Cook (Jack O'Connell), skateboarding stoner Freddie, magician J.J., and Thomas, who struggles to settle in the UK after arriving from Congo.

Harry Enfield, Morwenna Banks and Geoffrey Hughes will return for guest appearances, along with new guest stars Scott Mills, Mackenzie Crook, Sally Phillips and James Fleet.

Skins returns to E4 for a ten-episode run in January.

I am going to give the new series a look and see what I think. It's not going to be the same without the likes of Cassie, Tony, Sid etc though :(

it will either work really well or flop badly. but i'm sure as hell going to miss tony and the gang. Skins was my favourite show ever, so I hope it's not ruined with this new cast

glad Effy is back at least, as is Jim and Anthea.

yeah series 2 episode 7 and it worked well as Effy is a really interesting character. She managed to undo all the damage that had been created over the series. "I'll sort out your ****ing soap opera for you"

I think the best thing to do is to think of it as a completley different show, as essentially it will be. When people compare it to the original 2 series, then there's obviously going to be a lot of disapointment. Saying that, it could turn out to be better than the original. doubt it though.

True, but the problem is there will be certain elements of the old series and then theres effy who I dont really like anyway, so It gonna be hard to think of it as a new show, with elements from the old show in it anyway
