Monday 1st December

Shane (Paul McEwan) gives Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) some information on homelessness in the area to encourage her to write a public interest story, leaving them free to go on holiday. Niggled by Debbie’s (Charley Webb) doubts, Jasmine tests the water and is horrified how Shane reacts when she tells him she will continue with her story on the MacFarlanes. Shane quickly blames his outburst on a fear that something bad will happen to Jasmine, but she disregards his concerns and makes it clear that her career depends on nailing the MacFarlanes. She allows Shane to believe they are fine but it is clear she is playing a dangerous game. Later, Jasmine is intrigued to hear about Aaron’s involvement with the MacFarlanes and finally admits to herself that Shane has strayed onto the wrong side of the law.

Meanwhile, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) takes Zak (Steve Halliwell) and Eli (Joseph Gilgun) to Aaron’s father’s house for news of her son. She’s worried when it seems Aaron has gone missing and the situation gets worse when she discovers Aaron attacked his stepmum. Chas is distraught when Gordon Livesy accuses her of abandoning their son. Returning to the Dingles, Chas waits for more news, but the mystery deepens when Danielle (Nicola Stapleton) arrives on the Dingle’s doorstep. She tells Chas that Aaron has got mixed up with the MacFarlanes and they are not happy that he has been questioned by the police. Aware she may not be able to trust Shane, Chas asks Donna to enquire with the MacFarlane’s about Aaron’s whereabouts alone. Donna, desperate to help, agrees.

Marlon (Mark Charnock) insists that Donna (Verity Rushworth) takes Ross (Samuel Anderson) with her to quiz the MacFarlanes. However, Donna decides to limit Ross’ involvement to an alibi at work and heads off to the club. Gary MacFarlane (Colin Connor) feigns cooperation as Donna looks around but it’s clear that he’s trying to intimidate her. Donna returns to the Dingles’ with no further news. Chas is annoyed but Donna fires back that everyone has their own problems.

Tuesday 2 December

Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) spots Shane (Paul McEwan) at the MacFarlane’s club witnessing Aaron (Danny Miller) being manhandled into a car. She tells Debbie (Charley Webb) that she was right all along and Debbie rails at her for being so stupid. Fired up, Jasmine ransacks Shane’s flat looking for evidence to nail him. She finds money and drugs but her find is bittersweet as Shane returns and finds her hiding in his cupboard. Jasmine makes a run for the door but Shane grabs her and his domination of her soon turns sexual. Just as Shane is about to rape her Debbie enters, grabs a chair and hits him over the head with a firm blow. Just as the girls are about to escape, Shane regains consciousness and grabs Debbie. Acting in terror, Jasmine hits Shane over the head with a wooden leg of the chair, killing him. Fear and hatred overflow as she continues to hit him again and again. Debbie screams at her to stop.

Elsewhere, Ross (Samuel Anderson) is instantly suspicious when Shane tries to press him on Donna’s (Verity Rushworth) pursuit of the MacFarlanes. Shane advises Ross to convince Donna to stop looking, but it’s clear Ross isn’t buying Shane’s game. Ross is appalled when Shane admits to him that he is involved with the MacFarlanes. Shane warns Ross not to tell anyone or he’ll spill the truth about Ross and Donna’s affair. Enraged by Shane’s threat, Ross punches his colleague hard in the face. Leaving, he goes to tell Donna what’s happened has to go on the defensive when Donna blames him for being heavy handed. Realising she must admit the truth to Marlon before it comes from Shane, Donna orders Ross to find Shane and do what ever it takes to stop him.

Hearing that Aaron is in the hands of the MacFarlanes, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) demands a full-scale Dingle rescue. With few reliable ideas, Chas fumes and blames Zak (Steve Halliwell) for the weak state of the Dingle family. Desperate to help out, Eli (Joseph Gilgun) persuades Danielle (Nicola Stapleton) to be their eyes and ears. She texts Eli and informs him where the MacFarlanes are holding Aaron. Gathering whatever weaponry they can lay their hands on, the Dingles vow to get Aaron back whatever it takes.

Wednesday 3 November

With Shane’s lifeless body in front of her, Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) struggles to comprehend her actions. Debbie (Charley Webb) is unable to calm Jasmine down and the girls are startled when Ross (Samuel Anderson) leaves a message on Shane’s phone. Debbie makes a decision that they should flee the murder scene and create the impression they were never there. After some convincing, Debbie orders Jasmine to bag up the murder weapon and clean the apartment of all traces of their presence. As they are leaving the scene, Debbie is locked in the flat by Jasmine after Ross returns to see Shane. Unable to get rid of him, Jasmine has no choice but to accept a lift from the cop. Afterwards Jasmine returns having left Ross and lets Debbie out. Collapsing in one another’s arms, the realisation that Jasmine has now been seen at the scene of a murder hits the girls as they panic at what they are going to do now.

Meanwhile, Donna (Verity Rushworth) is distraught when Ross comes back from Shane’s to say he wasn’t there. Assuming that Shane has told Marlon (Mark Charnock) about the affair, Donna bursts into tears. Trying to comfort her, Ross tenderly kisses Donna, but they are soon interrupted when Paddy (Dominic Brunt) comes home and sees everything. Fuming, Paddy punches Ross and demands an explanation. Donna tries to convince him that this is more than a fling and when Marlon returns home she will be breaking up with him. Paddy pours scorn on them and throws Ross out. With his cousin out of the way, Paddy pleads with Donna to reconsider, but his words are useless as Donna insists she loves Ross.

Elsewhere, the Dingles turn up mob-handed to the MacFarlanes’ house and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) is on edge as they secretly watch Aaron (Danny Miller) being held by some heavies. The Dingles rescue Aaron when Chas helps him over the wall of their garden. Back at home, Chas tries once more to connect with Aaron but he refuses to lower his guard. The rest of the family celebrate, but the mood darkens and all are alarmed when Gary McFarlane (Colin Connor) arrives. Gary, however, makes it clear that as long as Aaron keeps himself quiet where the police are concerned he will leave him alone. However, the spectre of the MacFarlanes looms over Chas as Gary mentions that she now owes the family two favours.

Thursday 4 December 7

Unable to lift Shane’s body, Debbie (Charley Webb) leads Eli (Joseph Gilgun) to the murder scene and the girls beg him for his help. Eli refuses to get involved and ignores Debbie’s tears as he storms out. Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) pursues him and asks that he help for Debbie’s sake. Aware he is making the worst decision of his life he agrees and orders a deep clean of the apartment. They pack a case for Shane and use his credit card to buy a ticket to make it seem like he’s done a runner. Grabbing a wheelie bin they manage to get Shane’s body into the back of the van without drawing any attention to themselves. With the hard part out of the way the three co-conspirators are left with the dilemma of what to do with the body.

Also, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) is horrified to learn that Donna (Verity Rushworth) is only coming clean to Marlon (Mark Charnock) because Shane discovered the affair. Paddy urges Donna to realise she is making a terrible mistake and not to tell Marlon, but Donna explains they’re past the point of no return. Paddy questions her further and it becomes clear that Donna’s head is in a mess and that she loves both men. Paddy makes a last-ditch attempt to change her mind and the pair are startled when Marlon returns home. Confident that he’s convinced her, Paddy leaves Donna alone to spend time with her husband.

Back at the Dingles’, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) worries that Aaron (Danny Miller) will get into more trouble. Chas rails at her son when he mocks the Dingle family and Aaron explains that he went off the rails after his dad and stepmum had a baby. Despite Chas’ best intentions to make things right, Aaron states he wants to be left alone. However, much to Aaron’s disdain, the Dingles insist he stays at Wishing Well.

Friday 5 December

Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman), Debbie (Charley Webb) and Eli (Joseph Gilgun) arrive back in the village with no idea how to dispose of Shane’s body. They are startled when Ross (Samuel Anderson) appears to ask Jasmine if they know where Shane is. Despite a bumbled explanation, Ross leaves a relieved man, under the impression that he has done a runner. Believing that Jasmine is close to cracking, Debbie and Eli discuss possible locations for dumping the body. Mid-discussion the pair are stunned to be interrupted by Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Aaron (Danny Miller). Debbie fobs them off before Aaron catches a sight of the body and Jasmine finally realises that something needs to be done. Jasmine, Debbie and Eli disguise Shane’s body and dispose of it.

Also, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) tells Ross that he will not let him ruin Donna (Verity Rushworth) and Marlon’s (Mark Charnock) marriage. When he tells him that he will never be able to give her stability, family and lifelong commitment, all the things that Marlon can, Ross is pained to know that he is right. Ross tells Donna that Shane has gone away and tells her that it is probably for the best that Marlon never found out. Donna, confused, thought he wanted Marlon to find out. Hiding his pain, Ross responds that he just wanted her to be happy. They part, each wondering what might have been.

Meanwhile, Chas catches Aaron sneaking out and, although hurt, offers to give him a lift back to his dads. Borrowing a taxi from Debbie, Chas drives Aaron home. When his father refuses to take him back, Aaron masks his pain and agrees to go back with Chas when the only other option is social services. As Chas warmly welcomes her son back, he avoids her emotion and makes it obvious Chas’ battles are far from over. When Chas finally falls asleep on the sofa, she’s oblivious to Aaron as he sneaks past and makes his exit out of the door.
