Girls Aloud have agreed to take part in an ITV special over the festive period.
The group will film The Girls Aloud Party, which will see them singing and acting out sketches.
They will also interview celebrity friends, including Take That, and unveil their Christmas single.
"This year has been great for us and what better way to round it off than a festive special," Sarah Harding told The Sun. "The show will be a Girls Aloud Christmas party and loads of fun."
ITV is reported to have agreed a substantial payment for the band, with an insider saying: "The girls are like family to ITV and we'd do anything to stop them going to another channel. They started their career here on Popstars: The Rivals and the public loves them.
"They want people to see another side of them which is why they've agreed to do the show. They have more ambitions than just singing and this is a great showcase for them. Sarah in particular wants to be an actress."
The source added: "Also, it gives them a chance to show Charlotte Church how it's done. That rivalry's still there and they're really stepping on her toes with this."
Girls Aloud's sixth album Out Of Control debuted at number one in this week's album chart.
