Leona Lewis will guest on 15 November, I wonder what kind of songs they will perform. Cra**y Daniel will probably still not get voted off, don't understand how that guy can be safe every week?

Rex Features
Diana Vickers will definitely perform on tonight's episode of The X Factor, creative director Brian Friedman has claimed.

The 17-year-old was forced to miss last week's show after developing laryngitis. However, Friedman said she will take to the stage tonight "no matter what".

"I was with Diana in rehearsals [on Thursday]. Her throat still hurts, she couldn't talk at full volume, she was having trouble swallowing," he told The Sun.

"She wants to perform. Diana is going to go on stage no matter what this week."

It was recently reported that X Factor judge Cheryl Cole has caught the throat infection from Vickers.

Looking forward to Ruth and Rachel's performances tonight. Rachel's amazing audition was singing You Know I'm No Good, so hopefully she can finally prove herself to the public this week.

Thought some of the songs were crap tonight, I mean they sang them well, but havent heard of them!

Daniel to go!!!

Daniel - What a cheesefest but I loved it because of how tacky I thought it was! Well done :D 5/10

Alexandra - Fantastic! She has an amazing voice. We need to see some more of her personality though 9/10

JLS - Really liked the medley they did, it was something different - I don't think their voices are the best though.. 6/10

Rachel - Brilliant performance. I really enjoyed it and I'm glad she's got her confidence back. She needs to stay consistent though and I'm worried she won't be able to sustain her good performance tonight. 8/10

Eoghan - I actually liked his performance! And I'm not much of a fan.. no gimmicks, just him simply singing and I thought he did a good job. I think he's got better since the start of the live shows 8/10

Diana - Her worst performance so far, though it wasn't terrible. I do feel sorry for her though and I give her the benefit of the doubt..she had a good attempt 5/10

Ruth - She was fantastic! Blew me away but she is soo underrated! This woman deserves to be in the final. I really liked the performance, the dancers etc. Performance of the night for me personally 9/10

I think Daniel's time is up tonight.. I predict he will be in the bottom two with JLS. Despite Diana not having a brilliant performance, I think her fans will stick by her tonight.

I'm surprised that the judges vote, sparing Dannii the choice of having to choose, although Daniel was the weaker of the acts I would have expected the judges to vote tactically again and keep Daniel in and send Rachel home. This was Rachels best week but it has taken her six weeks to perform well she will be a gonner next week.

I really don't like Diana at all now - did at the start, but her voice is always the same, sings in the style of Dolores from the Cranberries and not as well. Her performance last night was terrible, even though she was ill, but it still doesn't do it for me sorry.

Stunning!

Leona Lewis once again wipes a brillaint song of any real emotion with her incessant warbling.

did anyone else think Rachel was awful last night? i agree with Louis, it was rather Stars in Your Eyes, but also a bit caberet! and am i the only one who's never heard of Eoghan's song before?

Abbie
16-11-2008, 17:14
I hadnt heard half the songs that were on last night, well 2 or 3 I think

Abi
17-11-2008, 01:14
Rachel should have gone last night. All she proved is that Amy Winehouse is the only thing she can sing. And we don't need a carbon-copy of her winning. Daniel deserved to be in the bottom two, but i actually rated him higher than Rachel on both of his songs. Ruth really impressed me last night, and i'm not usually a big fan of hers. Diana struggled which was disappointing, but if your not at full health, then thats to be expected. JLS did pretty well, considering that the Beatles are a million miles away from their kind of music. Eogian (dont know how you spell it) bored me to death. And he was out of tune for most of it. Alexandra was very understated which was good to see. She is great at belting out a song, but its good to see she can pull off the opposite too.

Unless they drastically improve, i hope Rachel/Eogan go very soon.

This week's X Factor saw the remaining seven acts performing British songs in a bid to impress the judging panel and the viewers at home.

Here's what the judges had to say:

Daniel Evans - 'It's Not Unusual'

Louis: "You're still in the competition, what are the pubic thinking? There's nothing unusual about you. You have a great smile - everything was good but you were bad. The public are creating a monster."

Cheryl: "You are a great sport for getting out of the car and dancing around. You seem a little distracted with the five blonde bombshells, but good kick-off to the show, I enjoyed it!"

Simon: "I don't think it matters what we say. Whatever we say the public aren't going to take any notice. It was a bit 'drunk dad at a wedding' - but we still have absolutely zero control over the show."

Dannii: "Va va vroom! Dancing is not your forte but you are showing you are versatile and that you are consistently good."

Alexandra Burke - 'You Are So Beautiful'

Louis: "Alexandra, you are getting better week by week. You're so professional, and I want the public to know, every time I meet you in the corridor, you are so happy and you never whinge. I want the public to get behind you."

Dannii: "There is nothing you can't sing. It's a male vocal song and you have put your stamp on it. I would like to see more of your personality on stage, it's happy lyrics so let's see it!"

Simon: "You were singing that to me, weren't you? That is honestly the most difficult song to sing, originally sung by a guy. No frills, it's a good old-fashioned song. I just hope you stay in the competition."

Cheryl: "Other then the fact I see you every week growing into a star, I absolutely love working with you. That was amazing."

JLS - Beatles Medley ('I Wanna Hold Your Hand', 'Twist & Shout', 'Hey Jude')

Dannii: "You guys always pull out an amazing performance. But are these songs from your iPod or Louis's iPod? Is this music you really listen to? If you make an album would you chose this song? I just don't feel like these songs will be on your album, I don't feel like it's you."

Cheryl: "The Beatles are the best British band and it's so hard to do a medley, it can be really cheesy but you did it really well."

Simon: "I'm in two minds about this performance. You have proven that you are brilliant entertainers but this has Louis Walsh stamped all over it. It's really gimmicky and you're going to look back on this in a couple of weeks and be embarrassed. Was it a great version of The Beatles? No."

Louis: "The Beatles are timeless music, you danced around and you had fun!"

Rachel Hylton - 'You Know I'm No Good'

Louis: "it was a lot better than last week. I know you're having a hard time on the show and in the press, but it was a little bit Stars In Their Eyes."

Cheryl: "This is what I was waiting for. Best I've see you and you look far more comfortable in your clothes, and your choice of song."

Simon: "Welcome back to The X Factor! This is what your voice sounds naturally, and you look much happier."

Dannii: "You look fantastic, and you put your stamp all over that song. No one knows how to do a reality show until you're in it, but you have arrived!"

Eoghan Quigg - 'One More Try'

Louis: 'It was a big task to give you that song, but you've absolutely pulled it off. You're a natural performer - you're going to be in the final."

Dannii: "You're giving consistent performances. The [videotape] lets us into your life and you're such a sweet guy."

Cheryl: "Whenever I hear your sing choices I think 'ooh' but you always pull it off. I think is it the sweet factor? But I'm seeing star quality."

Simon: "These are not easy songs, there are no gimmicks. You don't complain, you don't whine, if you're not in the final it'll be a miracle!"

Diana Vickers - 'Yellow'

Louis: "You're back with a bang. I'm glad you're back in the competition. You picked a very difficult song; you look like a little raggedy doll up there singing. You're different from everyone else, and you're definitely in the final."

Dannii: "Sometimes you lose your voice, and it's unfair what people say about you in the press. I didn't love that song for you, but just well done for being you - it's been a tough week to go through."

Simon: "I really missed you last week. You are the most relevant artist in the competition. The problem is, I don't think you're well enough. You were off in parts, and you know it. For the first week I'm worried."

Cheryl: "You're not 100% and your confidence is shattered to pieces. I hope the public remember everything up until now and keep you in the competition."

Ruth Lorenzo - 'Angels'

Louis: "I got a bit of flack last week for saving you, but after that performance, I'm glad I did. There are two things keeping you in the competition – your passion and personality. You deserve to be on that stage."

Cheryl: "You totally deserve to be in the competition and you proved that again tonight. Well done."

Simon: "That was the most insane interpretation of that song, but I liked it. At least you make an effort, you give 110%. I don't think anyone gave you credit from last week, you gave the best performance."

Dannii: "You were fantastic Oh my god! You have to vote for the ones you love!"

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has offered his support to X Factor's Daniel Evans.

Brown and his wife Sarah told the singer that they were supporting him in the competition, despite constant criticism from judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell.

"Can I say that the next time Simon says that you are only supported by the over-60s, you can tell him that my wife Sarah and I disagree," said the PM in a letter.

"Although you would be better off mentioning Sarah rather than me, as she is much further away from 60 than I am!"

Daniel Evans exited The X Factor on Saturday after losing in a sing-off with Rachel Hylton.

The Labour Party leader sent personal letters to each X Factor contestant to thank them for their charity single 'Hero'.

I have to say Diana annoyed me most this week.. she tries to sound like Deloros from Cranberries but fails and she sings through her nose...
Eoghan impressed me this week.. he took on a hard song and pulled it off.. Right decision was made to let Daniel go.. Rachel to go next week or Diane

I didn't like her version either. Why is she suddenly doing covers again too?

I agree that Diana was terrible. But her voice was cracking, so you could tell it was because she wasn't 100%. Whereas if you compare to Rachel last week, her performance was bad because she was out of tune, rather than cracking. The same with GirlBand at the beginning. Hopefully her voice will recover properly soon.

Im sorry but Leona's version of Snow Patrol's great song was crap. She totally ruined it.

I think the final will be Ruth, Diana and Eoghan cos all the others are useless.

Rachel just cannot sing most songs apart from Amy Winehouse.
Alex is just so boring. Its like "yeah, we've heard it all before"
JLS are OK but not good enough to win.

But thats only my opinion.

Thats what I mean, well me and my mum agree we love her but you can tell her voice was bad, like cracking as you said, cos normally she never has any problems with singing, unlike other contestants who have been awful

I must be the ony one who loved Leonas version of Run, Ive loved it ever since she did it on the Radio one live lounge, I think thats why shes releasing it cos loads of us loved it :D :p

indeed. i'm sure she sung it in tune and everything else, but it's just a stupid attempt to make her look credible by covering a proper band's song when it didn't actually suit her.

Leona Lewis looks set to miss out on entering the singles chart with 'Run' after a record company blunder.

The singer was expected to release 'Run' as a digital download after performing the song on last weekend's X Factor. However Sony failed to make it available online.

"It’s an absolute c**k-up. It was due out as a download and would have walked to number one," an insider told The Sun.

The song shot straight to number one on the Irish iTunes after her performance on the ITV1 show. A video has already been recorded in South Africa and Dermot O'Leary introduced it as "her new single".

A spokesman for Lewis told The Sun: "'Run' has never been scheduled for release as a single. It is available on the new edition of Spirit, in stores now and digitally from December 1."

However, fans are reportedly complaining that bosses changed their mind to force people to buy the album re-release, according to the newspaper.

"If that’s the case, the Leona camp will be furious. Given the choice of a single or double number one, I know what they would have preferred," the insider added.
