CORRIE kidnap victim Rosie Webster finally makes a break for freedom after being held prisoner by maniac John Stape for weeks.
The terrified teen attacks her crazed captor and scarpers, just as he’s coming clean to Fiz.
“Rosie’s been alone in the house for days,” said Helen Flanagan, who plays her.
“She lashes out in desperation.”
As the week begins, John returns from holiday with Fiz and lies that he’s eager to get back to his gran’s house and feed the cat – when he’s actually going to check up on Rosie.
But his plans are put on hold when he gets called in to Streetcars.
Fiz then spots the keys to the house and decides to take care of the moggie as a favour. When John gets wind of this, he makes a mad dash to get there before her – but he’s too late and is forced to confess he kidnapped Rosie.
Fiz is appalled and demands he release her immediately – but Rosie is waiting to make another bid for freedom and whacks John over the head with a wooden table leg the second he opens the attic door!
“She really thought she might die in there,” added Helen.
Rosie bolts down the stairs to safety, and Fiz comforts her while waiting for the police to arrive.
“It’s all really dramatic stuff!” Helen grinned.
After John is arrested, heartbroken Fiz tells him she wants nothing more to do with him, and that Rosie feels exactly the same way.
“He’s not a sinister, twisted baddie,” added Helen.
“But Rosie obviously hates him.”
