Wireless Router

So i'm getting a laptop for christmas and so far we've only had the modem for the internet on the desktop computer. So i was just wondering do you get instructions in the box with the router on how to connect it and also, the laptop that i've got, I don't think it's wireless enabled 'cos it's not saying it anywhere in the discription it just says : 56K modem & LAN so I'm gonna have to get a dongle/convertor for it.

And also can you still have the computer running from the modem or not when it's on the wireless if you get me.

Practically all laptops that come now are wireless enabled. You should be able to connect to the internet quite easily using your wireless modem as it should have full and easy instructions. Keep the lead that connects between your computer and your present modem as you can use this to manually set up your wireless router
