What upsets me is the "new and improved" Fireman Sam and Postman Pat! They were my faves as a kid, and they hurt me now... Postman Pat in particular. I still love Fireman Sam, watch it often! Nowhere near as good as it was though! Postman Pat is atrocious!! What they've done to that, I actually can't bear to watch it anymore and I love it!!
Sooty is also a fave of mine!!! I LOVE IT! I got a few vids of it and still watch it!! With Mathew Corbitt though...
Top Cat was another fave!!!! Also the Smurfs... Top Cat, Smurfs and Wacky rAces is what I used to watch before going to school. :crying: I miss them days.
Cartooons are nowhere near as good anymore!!!!
WIMSYS House!!! Anyone remember that?? NO ONE CAN!! :crying: used to be on Ch 5!!!!
I still watch the classic cartoons like Loony Tonns and Toma nd Jerry though :D i love cartoons!

FORMER Play School presenter Floella Benjamin has slammed the state of children’s television.
Floella, 59, said today’s kids were being exposed to “more and more cheap imports” and “dross” and had no alternative but to watch soaps and other shows designed for adults.
The star, involved in kids’ TV for 30 years, rapped politicians for letting commercial broadcasters cut children’s output.
She told a conference in London that children are watching programmes “totally unsuited to them on many levels”.
She added: “I would like to ban all televisions in children’s bedrooms.”
Floella Benjamin! now there is a blast from the past.. I agree with her on the tv in kids rooms

Bagpuss creator Oliver Postgate has passed away, aged 83.
Postgate's other TV work included Noggin The Nog, Ivor The Engine and The Clangers.
He died at a nursing home in Broadstairs, Kent on Monday.
His shows were created by his own company Smallfilms, which he developed with puppeteer Peter Firmin. The duo began the company in a disused cowshed in Kent.
Postgate famously narrated all his Smallfilms programmes
Bagpuss, which ran for 13 episodes from 1974, is regularly voted one of Britain's best-loved children's television shows, and earlier this year its rights were sold to media company Coolabi for £400,000.
Postgate stopped working in 1987, complaining that TV commissioners were not interested in his brand of children's entertainment anymore.

Russell T. Davies has criticised the decline in children's television on British screens.
The Doctor Who writer was speaking at a BAFTA event on Tuesday, during which he also attacked the demonisation of young people, Licensing.biz reports.
Davies said: "Children's TV has all but disappeared from ITV, literally vanished from the schedules, and it's not coming back any time soon. We need to embrace what the BBC has.
"Something massive needs to be done - children's programming needs more money and it needs to urgently.
"Nothing is more important than our children. It is not nostalgic to remember something that was brilliant. It is remembering something that you loved."
He went on to comment on the success of the relaunched Doctor Who and suggested that lottery money could be used to support children's television.
I don't watch kids tv as my little boy is over 21 :D so can't comment, but do you, who do watch it (with or without kids) agree?
Well... don't judge me for still watching kids tv at 19 :p
ITV don't show any kids programs now. Gone are the days of Little Bear, Fun House, Art Attack and all the other favourites from the 90s.
The BBC have a few good programs. I like Tracey Beaker and Big Cook Little Cook. The modern day programs aren't a patch on the golden oldies like Saved By The Bell, Pingu, Postman Pat, Fireman Sam, El Nombre et al.
On Milkshake, I watched that New Zealand explorer drama with Thadius and his photographer girlfriend who were lost in the jungle (can't remember the name) and Snobs. Even those aren't on anymore.
I don't think new programs need to be made, just show all the 90s classics and I for one will be happy :D:D

My youth was spent lazying on the couch on a Saturday morning watching Tiswas, while my mother yelled at me to go to the shops. Now they want to discourage children from spending too much time watching tv that is why childrens programmes are limited on terrestrial televsision. You can watch programmes on Disney, nickelodeon or other cable channels but the programmes now are just rubbish.

I love Pingu specially when he yells at his little brother. Marley has a pingu video and one of my favourite episode was when Pingu' brother hid his ball and he was really sad because he couldn't find it. He didn't eat his tea and got off the table and said he was going to bed bless. :rotfl:
