Bryan
18-10-2008, 11:50
i think it ruins it to find out what song's they're singing in advance. i'd rather wait to the night and see what they're performing when they come on, more exciting that way :D

Sometimes I dunno what Simon is talking about, he sounds like a loon!

Bad Wolf
19-10-2008, 12:38
why are they even having a jacko week???? its not like he is even there!!

Abbie
19-10-2008, 12:41

Bad Wolf
19-10-2008, 12:58
michael jackson - yup!! he was innocent

Abbie
19-10-2008, 13:01
why did he go to court about it though

You what this week, the only people I thought were great with the theme were JLS

Bad Wolf
19-10-2008, 13:04
some one accused of child abuse or something, he was found not guilty, and some demented woman released aload of white doves outside the court when the verdict was announced, anyway, totally off the xfactor

sorry!!

Bryan

My thoughts:

Boys

Austin - Really like him, and his Billie Jean performance last night was brilliant! I hope he gets far, if only for the eye candy!

Owen - Not as good as last week, but it wasn't too bad, he'll go far with the cute factor!

Scott - A million times better than last week, he isn't a bad singer tbf.

Girls

Diana - Less annoying than last week but I'm going to hate her soon enough! Put some shoes on FFS!

Alexander - Great performance, but can't help feeling I've seen too many acts like her before, there's nothing unique about her.

Laura - I didn't really enjoy her performance this week, but I think it's becuase her voice didn't lend itself to the song. Her smokey Amy Winehouse styley voice can only sing certain genres, but when she has the right song she'll be dynamite.

Over 25s

Ruth - Thought Ruth was amazing, how the hell was she in the bottom two? I was well nervous she'd go when it came to deadlock.

Daniel - Why!? Just - why!? Recky Gervais will probably end up winning the show like talentless Leon did last year!

Rachel - I like her performance, she wasn't afraid to take a risk, but we still haven't seen her best yet - I think she's saving it for Bond night!

Groups

JLS - Some of the members really annoy me - that one with the stupid haircut, and the little one that jumps around the stage like a rotweiller.

Girband - Utter tosh, good job they went. They murdered one of my favourite songs - I Don't Want To Miss A Thing!

Judges

Simon & Louis - Grow up! This bickering is so boring now! :lweek:

Danni - Meh, just quit please and bring back Sharon - you contribute zilch to the show! You're going to end up ruining Ruth and Rachel at this rate...

Cheryl - This series just wouldn't be the same without her, she's such a great addition to the show, the only judge that acts with a bit of dignity.

They always have a shock exit like halfway through the competition.. so I can see one of the stronger singers going then unfortunately, probably one of Cheryl's girls as all 3 of them won't stay 'til final night.

Abbie
19-10-2008, 17:39
Awww I love all of cheryls girls

Abi
19-10-2008, 17:43
Rachel was awfull, i couldn't understand a word she was saying. She needs to improve her diction. Didn't think much of any of the boys or groups, really. Loving the girls though, especially Alexandra and Diana.

megan999
19-10-2008, 18:29
IMO Austin is the best male and Alexandra is the best female. I agree that Rachel is overated, and I too couldn't work out all of her words. Diana is a bit too kooky for me but I did enjoy her performance last week. Daniel should be the next one to go! BTW Is it true that Sharon O has been coaching Cheryl to get back at Dannii? I saw the headline on the front of a magazine - can't remember which magazine though.

I really enjoyed JLS's performance

Eoghan did really well with his version of Ben

Cheryl looks too skinny

Rachel is terribly annoying.

I remember she was told off for being too bolshy in the beginning and that her bad attitude nearly cost her her chance to take part. She is probably too scared now to really say what is on her mind.

Kicked-OUT Girlband have defended mentor Louis Walsh - after fellow judge Cheryl Cole said he'd "lost his girlband mojo".

The foursome were booted off the show on Saturday night, the second ofWalsh's girl groups to go after Bad Lashes.

But asked whether they blamed Walsh's lack of experience with girlbands, Layla Manoochehri, 22, said: "Louis has been absolutely wonderful. He has given us so much advice."

Cole, whose group Girls Aloud was originally managed by Walsh, had earlier said: "Louis has never been great with girl groups. I think he's lost his mojo with them."

It was a second blow for Walsh, who last week was stung by criticism from Bad Lashes, who claimed he'd spent more time with boyband JLS.

Girlband lost in the public vote to Spanishborn Ruth Lorenzo.

Defiant pop flops Girlband last night vowed to become as successful as Girls Aloud — despite being the second act kicked off the X Factor live finals.

Sisters Tita, 19, and Phoebe Lau, 17, Layla Manoocherie, 22 and Marisa Billitteri, 20 — called “gimmicky” by Simon Cowell — won the least public votes.

But the girls still hope to make it big like Cheryl Cole and her bandmates, who won talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.

Marisa said: “We’d love to be as big as Girls Aloud.

“They’ve worked so hard to get where they are and if we could even get a tiny taster of what they’ve had, it’d be amazing.”

Girlband also said they were happy with mentor Louis Walsh who once managed Girls Aloud.

It follows claims by Bad Lashes they would have done better with Cheryl as their mentor.

Layla — who once co-wrote a song for soul singer Lisa Stansfield — said: “I don’t think we would have done better with Cheryl. Louis is a band man and he did his best for us.”

The girls will be back on the ITV1 hit to perform a cover of Mariah Carey classic Hero. The track to help Sun-backed charity Help for Heroes will be sung by all 12 finalists next Saturday.

Girlband told TVBiz it would be a great “compensation” for them if they could help get the single to number one in the charts.

Layla added: “We’re really looking forward to coming back on the show and singing it live.”

X Factor had 10.8million viewers on Saturday — beating BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing by 1.5million.

Girlband said they’re glad they didn’t use guinea pigs and rabbits on stage on Saturday, as had been planned.

The girls, mocked for their “gimmicky” rendition of Heal The World, refused to have a kids’ choir holding pets.

I watched it today (bit late I know ), and I felt after Simon had given his opinion she was being slightly sarcastic about it. In a subtle way. That's how I saw it. I don't like her. She's way up herself and she's not even that amazing!

I love JLS  They're amazing! My faves atm are JLS, Laura and Diana :cheer:.

Beyoncé has been approached to appear on the final of this year's X Factor, reports say.

The 26-year-old singer would duet with one of the finalists should she take up the offer. Take That are also in talks to appear on the ITV show.

A source told The Daily Star: "Simon Cowell wants to end the series on a high with two of the world's biggest pop acts. Last year we had Kylie and Katherine Jenkins performing duets with Leon and Rhydian, and this year we want Beyoncé and Take That. It’ll be the hottest ticket in town."

Britney Spears is also reported to be making an appearance on the contest later in the series.

Who'd want to be Louis Walsh this morning? After Bad Lashes were sent home last week, another of his acts, the honestly-titled Girlband, were eliminated on Saturday. Worse still, Simon Cowell called the group's performance "gimmicky" and claimed there was no connection between the girls and their mentor. Intrigued, we called Girlband's Tita to find out whether Mr Nasty had a point.

How are you all feeling today?
"We were a bit down yesterday but we've all picked ourselves up now and we're just really excited about what's to come. We're all really upset but we know there are still so many good things to come from this."

Did you expect to be in the bottom two again this week?
"Um... we didn't really know. I think there's so much talent on this year's show that anyone could end up in the bottom two. It's going to be a shocker every week I think."

It's two weeks into The X Factor and both girl groups have already been eliminated. Why do you think they struggle on the show?
"Well, Louis told us it's very difficult for girl groups to do well on The X Factor because not a lot of people pick up the phone and vote for girls. A group's never won before and hopefully that will change, because I think the industry really needs a good, fresh band at the moment. Hopefully we could be that band!"

Simon said your performance of 'Heal The World' was a bit "gimmicky". Do you think he had a point?
"Well, the production team actually wanted a children's choir to come on-stage with us holding rabbits and gerbils and hamsters and stuff. We were like, 'Nooooo!' Just imagine what he'd have said if we'd had all of that too! Actually I think Simon has a bit of a soft spot for us, he just gives out a lot of banter. We all think he's really funny."

He also claimed there was no connection between you and Louis. Is there any truth to that?
"No, we absolutely love Louis. He spent lots of time with us in rehearsals telling us what we needed to improve on and he always called and texted us during the week to find out how we were. He actually texted us just a second ago saying 'Hi' and asking how our interviews were going."

Do you think he's the best judge to mentor a girl group? Would you rather have had Cheryl?
"No. I think he's very, very good with boybands but he tried his best with us and we tried our best with him. You know, he did really well with Girls Aloud when he was managing them. I think we had the best mentor for the band and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way."

Did you hang out with Girls Aloud at all on Saturday?
"We watched them rehearsing and they were really lovely, smiling at us and asking how we were and stuff. We didn't actually get to see their live performance but when we were watching them rehearsing we were like, 'Oh my God they're amazing!' They're very inspiring to us."

Louis has said that Girlband need a fifth member to become a "great, great girl group". Is this on the cards?
"Well, we've actually got to have a meeting with Louis to talk about the future. Could we recruit a fifth member? Hmmm... well it's quite possible, we could go on a nationwide hunt! We'd be looking for someone fun and happy and fresh. We're all best friends anyway so we'd love to have another girlfriend, but obviously it would help if they can sing and dance a bit too!"

The X Factor continues Saturday at 7.45pm on ITV1.
