I'm not going to see the rest of the program but I think so far...
Austin - He sounded like he was doing karaoke  It sounded like he was singing in the same tone all of the song. Don't know why the judges were all going "zomg you are so great!"
Daniel? - the beginning was a bit meh...probably nerves because he sounded wobbly but it got better at the end, maybe it's just the song.
Alex - She's really good! Best so far.
JLS - I wasn't listening properly so I can't comment on their performance. :p
Scott - Could they have picked a worse song to make him sound like he's back in the pontins camp?
Behemoth
11-10-2008, 20:17
None of the performances have made me go "Wow!" yet but I don't think anybody has been terrible either.
I'm not sure what all the commotion about 'wrong song choice' is about. I thought Scott's performance was good.
Looking forward to Diana and Laura.
I think the music is too loud - or the microphone is too low as well.
Kirsty :]

I actually really liked Girlband. I thought they did really well.
I don't like the fact that the judges are laughing off bad song choices. They should take more care. Scott was gutted bless ihm, especially when Simon actually agreed with the other judges.
I didn't really like Dianas' performance.. sometimes it's like she slurs into her next words.. but still, she's got a good voice, and I'm not one to slate voices.. I sound like a drunken cat!

I didnt think much of scott, rachel or bad lashes up to now
Wonder where rachel bought her personality transplant since its not soaplife lol

I hate that diana and eoghan.
There were much stronger voices that should've been put through.
I wanted mali to be picked.
LostVoodoo

eoghan isn't there because he's a good singer, he's there to be cute and to sing vom-tastic songs to win the granny vote every week.
alex was fabulous!

Diana and Laura were my favourite performances of the night. I thought they were both outstanding and I can't wait to see/hear more from them in the coming weeks.
I wasn't surprised by the bottom two - I thought both girlbands were pretty average, so I didn't mind which one of them went..
Boys
Austin - One of my favourite acts, but I didn't think he did well at all last night, I was suprised when the judges praised him. That aside, how hot is he!? And he never cried either!
Scott - Deserved to go. He just hasn't got the x factor and barely any talent. Granted Simon's song choice was wrong, but I doubt Scott could pull anything off.
Owen (I can't be assed to spell it right) Gave one of the best performances of the night, which is suprising as i didn't expect much from him.
Girls
Diana - She did an ok performance, but I think i'm going to grow to hate her with her wavey hands and stupid voice. She wont last long I'm sure of it.
Alex - We haven't seen the best of her yet, I expected her to blow away the studio last night, but she didn't. I still expect her to go far though.
Laura - Best performance of the night, this girl has such much talent, I can see her winning. The next Amy Winehouse perhaps?
Over 25s
Daniel - He deserved the criticisms he got, he's useless, no idea why Danni put him through. He's out next week, I'm sure of it.
Ruth - Brilliant performance, I can see her being one of my favourites but can see her leaving suddenly like Beverly did last year.
Rachel - OMG what is Danni on giving the best voice of the show such a rubbish song!? Rachel should demand a new mentor, Danni could have seriously ruined Rachel's chances of getting to week 2.
Groups
JLS - They're alright, nothing special, seen it all before.
Girlband/Bad Lashes - Load of old tosh. Bloody useless.
Judges:
Lois - Old and past it. If he thinks them groups are talented and gonna win him the show, he's clearly lost his mind!
Danni - Useless! Picking that sap Daniel for the final 3, and giving Rachel that god damn awful song choice! Purlease, show her the door for series six!!!
Cheryl - The cat that got the cream, she knows she's going to have Alex and Laura in the finals.
Simon - As honest as ever, but OMG how wrong did he get it with Scott!? At least he was big enough to admit he had done wrong!
Song of the night:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HClFE6kIlE
Austin - I like him, I thought the the song was good in parts in was just when they showed us the replays they just a crappy part and not the good part!
Scott - Now wtih him I used to like him and really wanted him to go through to this rounf but now that Ive seen him against all the others I think he should go next week, cos others are better than him
Eoghan- I loved him, loved the song and just yeah I think hes great. Although why wasnt he allowed to be on the xtra factor after the results show, hes 16 not 12!
Diana - I love this girl, I want her to go all the way, she really is one of my favs. Thankgod she is there cos she is someone different and I love her voice. Go Diana!
Alex - I thought she was great last night although that song its like even when you do it full out it doesnt seem it, if that maes sense but yeah she is also one of my favs :D
Laura - WOW she shocked me loved her voice!
The girls are the best category this year :D
Daniel - aww hes another where I like him but not sure about it now. Its like what the judges were saying. Cos I like him and wnat him to do well but at the same time I wouldnt buy his records so maybe he should be one of the next to go
Ruth - Love her love love her! And she looked stunning
Rachel - Pants song. Im really not keen on her, so we'll see what she does next week
JLS - One of my favs again :D I think and hope they will go far cos they really are ne of the best groups when you think of some of them we've had on this show
Girlband- They were ok, it was just the song I think, they needed to do something more wow you know.
Bad Lashses- they were the same really, I cant even remember what they sung now!

Rachel - OMG what is Danni on giving the best voice of the show such a rubbish song!? Rachel should demand a new mentor, Danni could have seriously ruined Rachel's chances of getting to week 2. With Every Heartbeat isn't a rubbish song but it wasn't the right song for her I agree. Everything was wrong about it, the dancing, the way she was dressed etc. it wasn't right to give her a club song, it looked out of place among what everyone else was given. she never even tried to make it her own either, just a bad copy of Robyn.
Sorry to say it but im really not liking Rachel at all, shes far too loud and over the top imo. she needs to tone it down a bit otherwise shes gonna become seriously annoying.
Post my thoughts on the rest of them a bit later as i havent seen it all yet.

what did the "creative director" do to daniel??
ohhhhh i know, aged him 20 years!!!!! everything about his look and song screamed "PUT ME ON A CRUISE SHIP!!!!!"
Its clear danni cant be bothered this year, she is treating these peoples career like a big joke. im no fan of rachel, but that was mean!!#
Ruth to win - love her!!
I know I wa shocked at Daniel to, with the faults of danni, but she did this last year, she picked some really werid stuff, thats just the thing danni does!

I dont think so, but at the same time it would be nice to see a girl band get further and maybe be different
Chris_2k11
12-10-2008, 13:46
why are all the songs cut so short?
They are only allowed to do a certain amount, if they did the whole song the show would be on for hours and hours, I think the songs get longer as the show goes on

this peformance from Bad Lashes was better than their first one
Thats true, I wondered why they changed the sing off this year
After watching the repeat I love Ruth a lot more now, her peformance was great, she's like the new Celion Dion! How hot is she!? I don't blame Simon for fancying her!!!
I'm sorry but i just have to say what crap have they put through this year. Im no good singer myself but these are supposed to be the best 12 singers out of 50,000 or whatever it was that applied to be on the show.
Alex, Daniel, Girlband just to name a few of them are some of the worst singers ever on the show. I cant beleive these got put through when people like Amy and Alan Turner were thrown out when they outclassed the whole show by miles.
I think it is such a farce this year. They will never get anyone as good as Leona Lewis again if their putting crap like this through.
OK I liked Ruth, Eoghan (sp?), Laura and Diana (apart from the dodgy arm movements) but having only four good singers out of twelve is ludicrous.
But thats just my opinion.

HELLO, hello, hello — what have we here then? It looks like X Factor hopeful Austin Drage is being arrested for crimes against music.
But fans need not worry. This was the pint-sized singer appearing as a bad boy in The Bill back in 2005.
The wannabe played Sun Hill vagrant Will McCann on and off for three years before copping a place in the X Factor finals as one of Simon Cowell’s three charges.
Austin, 22, who has also had a small role in Casualty, said: “Yes, I have done some acting. But singing is where my heart lies.”
From The Sun
X Factor winner Steve Brookstein has likened the ITV reality show to "bear baiting".
Speaking to the BBC's Radio 5 Live, the 2004 victor said The X Factor has become humiliating for its participants.
"It is sad that there are going to be people who are going to be publicly humiliated," the 39-year-old said. "It is a form of bear-baiting. I've been banging the drum about what it's about - people shouldn't call in and they shouldn't waste their money."
The soul singer won the first series of the show after being mentored by Simon Cowell. His first album Heart And Soul reached number one in the album charts.
Brookstein was subsequently dropped from his label Sony BMG and his second record, 40,000 Things with Numunu Records, sold just 7,000 copies.
To be honest, I do not remember him at all :searchme:
Cheryl Cole has said that she will snog Dannii Minogue if one of her contestants wins this year's X Factor.
Cole, who mentors Laura White, Diana Vickers and Alexandra Burke, made the promise when the show was off air on Saturday, according to the Daily Star.
The Girls Aloud singer was asked by an audience member which of her fellow judges she would "snog, marry or push off a cliff".
"Well, I'd definitely push Simon and Louis off a cliff," she said. "And I'd snog Dannii."
She continued: "If I win X Factor with one of my acts, then I'll snog her anyway!"
She could very well live to regret this statement, her acts look very promising. Should practice to pucker up already
All the makeovers look terrible
Alexandra was the best on Saturday night
I'm glad Bad Lashes went i thought Girlband (terrible name) were the better of the two
I love Alexandra, I hope she goes far

Will Young will perform as a guest star on the latest series of The X Factor.
Young, 29, found fame on reality TV singing contest Pop Idol in 2002, when he beat Gareth Gates to win the title.
The singer's relationship with judges Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh was rumoured to be frosty because of comments they've previously made about his career.
During Pop Idol, Cowell branded Young "distinctly average", while Walsh once described him as "[not] a very clever person".
A source told The Sun: "Will doesn't like Simon and Louis. However, it was this kind of show that gave him his career. He's not about to turn his back on it."
Young is currently promoting his fourth studio album Let It Go.

Ricky Gervais has hit back at X Factor judge Louis Walsh after he was used in a put-down on the ITV show.
Walsh said contestant Daniel's performance "didn't work for him" at all, adding that it was "very cruise ship".
"In fact, you remind me of Ricky Gervais singing karaoke at a Christmas party," he continued. "It didn't work for me at all."
Of the comments, The Office star told ITN: "Imagine Louis Walsh having a go at your looks. How did that make me feel?
"This is worse than when Dawn French said I was fat."

Tabloid reports have claimed that X Factor contestant Diana Vickers behaves like a diva backstage on the talent show.
According to The Sun, the 17-year-old's demanding behaviour and "attitude" have upset staff.
"Diana comes across as really angelic and sweet on the show, but she makes a bit of a fuss," said a source.
"Most people behind the scenes think she needs a bit of a kick up the backside. She doesn't like being filmed before she has her makeup done and the constant cameras in the house that the finalists share."
The show's workers apparently put up with her actions because producers are so impressed by her musical talents.
Vickers's performance of U2's 'With Or Without You' was praised by all the judges on last week's live show, with Louis Walsh describing her performance as "a breath of fresh air".

X Factor flops Bad Lashes claim they were forced to turn to rival mentor Cheryl Cole for help – because boss Louis Walsh spent most of his time with boyband JLS.
Sophie Wilson, 23, Sam Bennett, 21, Emily McNamee, 19, and Stacey Lincoln, 20, said they were gutted to become the first act voted out. And they blamed Walsh, 56, pictured left.
Emily said: “Louis admitted he wasn’t very good with girlbands and actually told us to listen to Cheryl for advice. She was fantastic.
She ‘got’ us straight away. I think she would have been a better mentor.”
Sophie added: “Cheryl knows what she is talking about. Louis loves boybands and I think he did talk to them more than us.”
The girls say they will not let the disappointment put them off their dream. They plan to look for a manager and chase a record deal.

The final 12 contestants on The X Factor are set to record a charity single.
The singers, who were revealed on Sunday, will release a cover of Mariah Carey’s hit Hero to raise money for Army charity Help For Heroes.
‘It’s a genius idea,’ a show insider tells the Daily Star. ‘In the past no one has been allowed to release a song before the winner.
‘But Simon has relaxed the rules and is releasing a single featuring all the finalists. Not everyone who makes the live shows ends up with a record deal, so this is a real gift for them.’
Mariah Carey is set to make a special appearance in the live shows.
Wayne Rooney knows who is going to win this year's X Factor competition, according to wife Coleen.
The fashionista has commented that Rooney has picked out the last two winners of the talent show, and that this year he is backing Alexandra Burke.
"We love watching the show and he picked out Leona two years ago from watching her very first audition," said Coleen.
"Then he tipped Leon to beat Rhydian in the final. I wouldn't have a clue who is going to win this year. Cheryl has the strongest group, but it's who the public likes.
"I like Laura and Diana, but Wayne is confident it's Alex."

It's bad news for ex-soap stars and ex-boyband members after a musical parody of The X Factor was forced to close following a threat of legal action.
The stage play called eXtra Factor was halfway through a tour of the UK when they were told to bring the curtain down, reports The Sun.
The cast of eXtra Factor included Kevin Kennedy (Coronation Street's Curly), Lisa Riley (Emmerdale's Mandy Dingle) and Antony Costa from boyband Blue. All the big names in other words.
Kevin Kennedy told The Sun: "It's disappointing because it was a good piece of theatre, but apparently we did something to upset Mr Cowell. Legally we couldn't combat that.
"I believe the producers are going to sort it out and maybe we should come back next year with the slogan 'The show Simon Cowell tried to ban'."
A spokesperson for The X Factor said they had taken action because the show was using the X Factor brand and logo, however, they also claimed that it was set to close anyway because it was making a loss.
X Factor spoofs seem to be flavour of the month at the moment as Peter Kay's parody of the show was watched by more than six million viewers on Channel 4 last weekend. We'd love to know what Simon Cowell and co thought of that. Ironically, the song featured in that show is outselling real X Factor winner Leon Jackson in this week's charts.
