Rab C. Nesbitt will return for a 45-minute BBC Two Christmas special.

The one-off, first announced at this year's Edinburgh TV Festival, will see the string-vested, armchair philosopher quit alcohol and find religion.

Gregor Fisher will return as Nesbitt, with Elaine C. Smith reprising her role as his wife Mary Doll and Tony Roper back as Jamesie Cotter.

Gary Lewis and Kathleen McDermott are new additions to the cast.

Colin Gilbert will direct the special from a script by Ian Pattison.

Does anybody not from Glasgow understand a word he is saying? Because I certainly don't

I can understand most of it but I do get lost.... maybe it is the celtic connection that helps me understand

Aw right Mary Doll :rotfl: Sorry Perdy I understand him perfectly. I met Gregor Fisher when I was working in one of the hotels in Edinburgh and he was staying there during the time Rab C was on the telly, in real life he is quietly spoken not a bit like Rab.
