ANOTHER sexy Bollywood actress is coming to spice things up on the cobbles.
Stunning Sophiya Haque has been cast as Corrie’s 51st barmaid, Poppy.
Her character is a friend of Liz McDonald’s (Bev Callard) – and will wind Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) up when she’s appointed the assistant manager of the Rovers.
A spokesman for the ITV1 soap said: “Poppy is feisty and fun and will keep the men of Weatherfield on their toes.”
Sophiya starts filming at the end of this month and will appear on screen at the end of November.
She used to be a host on MTV Asia in India and has starred in Bollywood films and hit West End musical, Bombay Dreams.
She’s the second Bollywood actress to come to the Street after Ayesha Dharker arrived as Tara Mandal – the love interest of Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin).
