Don't bother writing to Ringo Starr - your letter will only end up in the bin.
After 45 years of stardom, the former Beatles drummer doesn't want to spend any more time answering mail or sending signed photos to fans.
He made his views clear in a video posted on his website telling fans that any mail sent to him after October 20 will not be read or answered.
'It's going to be tossed,' he says. 'I'm warning you with peace and love, I have too much to do. So no more fan mail. Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be signed. Nothing. Anyway, peace and love, peace and love.'
Starr, 68, has angered fans in Liverpool by saying that he does not miss his native city now that he lives in America.
Vandals there beheaded a topiary sculpture of him earlier this year.

In 1991, he starred in an episode of The Simpsons in which he was depicted scrupulously answering every piece of fan mail that came his way.
Ringo Starr has filmed a bizarre rant at his fans telling them to stop sending him fanmail.
The former Beatles drummer, 68, says he has 'got too much to do,' and insists anything postmarked after October 20th 'will be tossed'. He posted the video message Sorry, No More Signing Stuff on his official website www.ringostarr.com.

Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr wants to stop receiving fanmail. He says he has 'got too much to do,' and anything postmarked after October 20th 'will be tossed'
'This is a serious message to everybody watching my update right now,' he says, wearing sunglasses and flashing a peace sign.
'Peace and love, peace and love. I want to tell you that post after the 20th of October, do not send fanmail to any address you have. NOTHING will be signed after 20th of October, if that has a date on it after it's going to be tossed.
'I'm warning you with peace and love I have too much to do. So no more fan mail. Thank you, thank you. And no objects to be signed, nothing. Peace and love, peace and love.'
Starr, who comes from Liverpool, now has homes in Los Angeles and France.

He has released more than 12 albums since The Beatles broke up in 1970, the most recent of which was Liverpool 8 in January this year.

I would be interested to see your answers to whether he is entitled to make this statement or do you think should be nicer to his fans who made him who he is today?

Find for the fan mail... he can do what he wants with but saying he is not going to do any more public signing is bull!

I think he is shooting himself in the foot, and I hope he has nooo plans to release any new material or go on tour...as his remarks probably have offended fans.

Why did he feel the need to speak out publicly about not want anymore fan mail, and thus making a big thing out of it?? Just don't sign it. Though would it kill him to sign some autographs every sooo often?

I personally dont like the guy, as it goes (apparently) he wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles and think he shouldn't moan about getting fan mail.....peace and love, peace and love...

Without his fans he wouldn't be anywhere, he just sounds like his ego has just got too big.

If John and George were still alive he would be lucky to get asked to sign one fan mail. He is being a total a**hole who does he think he is. He wouldn't be able to live in America if it wasn't for the fans.
