We have a new feature where a spelling bot will go around and correct everyones spelling. Its not 100% perfect but should get rid of most text speak.

She'll kick in every so often. Not perfect like I say and prone to making mistakes herself.

I'm gonna set it to do high priority on EE and low on everything else. Its not designed to do everything as that will take up too many resources, just key words.
Hopefully should kick everyone into not posting in text speak.
I take it it's not working as planned mordor?

Like I said, its not 100%. What I'm hoping is posters learn and correct their spelling.

This is cool! My spelling is perfect anyway though so I needn't worry :p

If you can get it to correct text talk, I will be happy... I never liked it and it is like deciphering code when someone sends a text message full of text talk...

Hopefully it will stop most of the text talk, but what I'm going to do is ask the mods to chip in and correct text talk posts.
If there's enough interest I may give certain users rights to edit other peoples posts for text speak/spelling.
I won't mind doing it either but I am not a mod and will be on Maternity leave from work soon so won't be visiting as often...

no phone line at home... I am renting at the moment and they never gave me a phone line.. will be moving soon so will get broadband then

The origin is really stupid! I heard my history teacher mention the Egyptian God of the Underworld called Osiris and the name just kind of stuck in my head, so when I was registering I decided to use it!

Hello,
This is Walford Queen unfortunately our Spelling Fairy was not 100% effective and therefore has been removed by Mordor.
Spelling Fairy will now remain as an account used by various Moderators on the board and will be targeting text speak and occasionally spelling.
At the moment I have taken over the Spelling Fairy account however other Moderators will probably be joining in as the Spelling Fairy at some future point. Please note: I will try to do a better job than the bot but I am a person and may even be worse than the bot.

I wish that spelling fairy bot had worked properly I hate being the Spelling Fairy because you don't know where to start with it. I'll try and get rid of a lot of text talk though.

Spelling Fairy is now inactive, it's not very effective the bot didn't work and now it's a staff account you don't know where to start with it. Mordor will probably sort something out anyways.

I love this! I must admit I'm a bit obsessive about spelling, I suppose its because its part of my job to make sure things are spelt right so it carries over into every day life (it's not as sad as it sounds, honestly!). :o

Don't worry, I'm gonna have a big push to clean up the spelling on the boards and have a spell checker incorporated.
I'll go on it and try and do my bit but it's a big board :)

I like too see the right spellings where it should be used. I have a phone and I use MSN and find it easy to manage and I type fast since Im always on the computer during my spare time. (which I have alot) Talent I like to call it :p Joking!!
