Pallett 'not bothered' over weight gain

Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett has insisted that she is unconcerned about gaining a stone in weight over the past year.

The actress, who plays Jo Sugden on the ITV1 soap, revealed that she is now 9st and has shot up from a size six to a size 10 in the past twelve months.

Pallett admitted that her split from former Coronation Street actor Richard Fleeshman was partly to blame for her weight gain. The pair dated for over a year before finally parting ways in October 2007.

"Instead of going home to my boyfriend I now go home to a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream," Roxanne told Closer magazine.

"I'm not too bothered, though. A size 10 is hardly huge," she continued. "But I'd like to lose the weight in the new year so I can fit back into my clothes!"

Pallett also confessed that filming domestic abuse scenes for Emmerdale had influenced her to eat more.

She said: "I'm working 12 hours a day doing emotionally draining scenes. So to deal with it I've been treating myself to crisps or chocolate on set and puddings when I get home."


Good on her, she certainly still looks very slim.

I think she looks great. ITs nice to hear. Someone selling it as a positive rather than i have to lose weight. Size 10 is a great size to be.

Size 10 is a nice size to be, neither too small, nor too big. Roxanne Pallett has a really refreshing attitude which is fantastic to see. Shows that just because she is a n actress she does feel emotions too ,like we do. In particular reading about her going home to a tub of ice-cream or bag of crisps after her relationship break-up. Good on ya Roxanne.
