STRICTLY Come Dancing star Tom Chambers has quit his hunky doctor role in Holby City, TV Biz can reveal.
The 31-year-old actor, who plays registrar Sam Strachan, is leaving after two years on the BBC1 show.
And he will go out in a blaze of glory in a big Christmas storyline.
Pals say the heart-throb – among the bookies’ favourites to reach the final of the BBC1 ballroom hit – has already had meetings with Beeb and ITV execs about new dramas.
We can also reveal he has been offered West End musical roles.
A source said: “Tom’s departure will leave his fans in tears, but Holby bosses are keeping tight-lipped about whether or not Sam will be killed off.”
Tom decided earlier this year that he would leave the show when his current contract expires.
He said: “I was worried about telling the bosses, but I wrote a long letter to the producers explaining my decision and they were incredibly nice about it.
“Sam Strachan has gone through so much in the past year with his cancer – it seemed like the perfect time to make the break. Then Strictly came along!”
Tom, who is dancing with stunning Camilla Dallerup, is so determined to win on the dancefloor he has moved his wedding date to fiancée Clare Harding.
He said: “I’m getting married on October 20. We’ve had to move it. Camilla said I could have 19½ hours off and that’s it.
“We’ve had to cancel the honeymoon. We’ll probably be in a hotel on the M1 for 24 hours.”

I Cant believe he is going, someone said he had mentioned it, but I cant believe he actually is
