Michelle Ryan begins her guest stint as evil sorceress Nimueh in this week's episode of Merlin.
Nimueh (pronounced "Nim-way", FYI) causes much panic in Camelot after she poisons the kingdom's water supply. People start dying, left right and centre as Nimueh delightfully watches the mayhem unfold through her Wizard Of Oz-style looking glass.
Uther is furious that magic has been used once again and demands that the culprit be found. Who does suspicion fall upon? Step forward... Gwen!
The young servant girl is accused of being responsible for the horrific events and is sentenced to execution. This shocking twist prompts Merlin to come forward and declare: "I was the one who used magic!"
As for Nimueh, she'll be recurring for the rest of the series right through to its climax. Also, it's worth noting at this stage that she has a "past history" with the Pendragons that plays an important part in what goes down.
Merlin airs Saturday at 6pm on BBC One.
