View Full Version : Hayley's return to stun Roy
HAYLEY Cropper is on her way back to Corrie — with a new man, we can reveal.
Julie Hesmondhalgh, 38, who plays the transsexual has had a year’s break from the ITV1 soap after an exhausting workload.
In the plot, fans saw Hayley leave to do charity work in Africa.
But hubby Roy (David Nelson) is in for a shock when she returns and says she has fallen in love with a Swedish teacher called Olaf and is leaving him.
A show source said: “Hayley leaves Roy devastated, but soon discovers Olaf is a rogue and begs Roy for forgiveness. Will he take her back?”

Stupid idea, Hayley is not the type to just go off with someone else.

 Too true!!!!!!!
Always thought Roy and Hayley were solid. They were the only couple I really thought would last the distance.. what is soapland doing.. People do stay together so why are they always breaking couples up... it is wrong
Why would they split up Roy and Hayley. In soapland there will clearly never be an episode dedicated to a wedding aniversary. As if Hayley would leave him!

Comeback Corrie girl Julie Hesmondhalgh told yesterday how Hayley Cropper arrives back in Weatherfield having fallen for another man.
Café boss Roy (David Neilson, 59) is thrilled to see his sex-swap missus after she took a year out to do voluntary work in Mozambique.
But under the scorching African sun, she fell head over heels for a blond-haired Swede called Olaf.
The bombshell storyline marks the return to the Street for Julie, 38, who took time out in real life to spend time with her family.
She said: “Everyone expects her to be over the moon to be back and to see Roy, but she acts a little bit strange.
“In Africa, Hayley met quite a few people. Her group leader was Olaf, a very handsome Swedish man Hayley had a little bit of a crush on perhaps.
“She was quite inspired by him and he had a profound effect on her.”
Hayley – back in Corrie next week – then tells Roy she’s fallen in love. But viewers will be left pondering whether that’s with Africa or Olaf.
Julie added: “The problems between Roy and Hayley aren’t as big as some they’ve faced in the past, perhaps.”
I was toally shocked when I read this, its Hayley!!
