I don't believe that someone like Jack would really get so involved with Tanya and her children that he would upsticks and move to France so that she could get away from her ex.

Didn't his ex and daughter also move to France recently? If he saw no need to move then to be closer to her why would he do it for someone elses kids?

Ronnie gets a soaking at the club
Airs on Monday, October 13 2008 at 20:00 BST on BBC One

Jack and Tanya return from France, but Tanya's not impressed when she sees a 'sold' sign being erected outside the house. She stubbornly goes outside and removes it. Later, Jack's caught off-guard when Max asks him about France.

Lauren, meanwhile, is excited about running for class president, but Jack, thinking of the impending move, tries to put her off the idea. Lauren, however, turns to Max for help. Jack's about to make an announcement to the kids about the move to France, when Tanya enters and cuts him short - she wants to do things her way, in her own time.

Later, Jack pops round to see Ronnie at her flat and he can see she's upset. As he wipes away a tear from her cheek, the moment's broken by Roxy turning up. Jack returns home to Tanya and apologises for their earlier argument over their move to France. But are they certain that it's what they both want? Somewhere else in London, Ronnie turns up at Joel's door and is stunned when a little girl opens it...

Meanwhile, Jane's on a mission to find her mobile and is concerned that Ian might find it. Jane catches Ian just before he picks up her phone and snatches it off him. She's relieved, but is evidently guilty about something. Christian informs Jane that he's going away for a few days and urges her to tell Ian the truth about what she's doing.

Later, Ian's at home cooking and a serious Jane asks to speak with him. However, when she goes into the living room, she's shocked to find the table set for a candlelit dinner for two.

Elsewhere, Archie continues to taunt Ronnie about Joel; Billy makes a huge effort with the social worker; Roxy worries that she'll never get her figure back; Zainab is concerned about Tamwar and turns to Dot for advice; Ronnie's happy that she'll be involved in the upbringing of Roxy's baby; Stacey urges Danielle to take Ronnie's attitude on the chin; Archie shows Ronnie her locket with a picture of Amy inside; Stacey throws a bucket of water over Ronnie, but Danielle gets the blame; and Billy's happy when he hears that Jay can stay with him.

Lauren's looking for some money in Tanya's bag and comes across the picture of their house in France. Tanya covers and is encouraged when Lauren mentions that she'd like to travel one day. Her optimism is thrown by Lauren's determination to win her school election. Later, Jane lets Tanya into her little secret, while Tanya reveals to Jane that she and Jack are moving to France. Jane soon realises that neither Max nor the kids have any idea of the plans. When Tanya returns home with some French-style food, she finds Lauren with a group of her friends in the living room.

A drunken Max turns up at the house and when Jack and Tanya arrive home, they're disgusted by the state of him. Max reluctantly backs down, but makes clear that nothing will stop him from seeing his kids. Once Max has gone, Tanya and Jack realise that they're going to have to leave the country without Max finding out and therefore can't tell the girls. Lauren and Abi, however, stand in the doorway in disbelief.

Meanwhile, Ian's pleased that the Beale empire is still firing on all cylinders. Jane panics, however, when he suggests that he should join 'her gym'. After Zainab catches Ian checking himself out in the mirror, an embarrassed Ian makes a phone call to Jane's gym. He asks if he'll get a special discount due to Jane being a member, but he's taken aback when they tell him that they have no record of Jane on their system.

Ian's heart sinks when Jane later tells him that she's going to the gym. He bites his tongue and lets her go. Later that night, Ian spots Jane's car pull up and he's surprised to see Tamwar get out of the passenger side.

Elsewhere, Jay's happy about his move into The Vic, but is upset when he sees Dawn; Masood arranges to meet Tamwar for lunch for a man-to-man chat; Mo leaves Danielle some dodgy stock to sell on the stall and Ronnie, prompting Ronnie to make a call to the market inspector; Danielle receives a visit from the police; Roxy warns Jack to steer clear of Ronnie; Zainab's worried that Tamwar's looking at porn; Jay realises that Billy has arranged a meeting for him and Dawn to iron out their differences; and Bradley comes to blows with a drunken Max.

Ian learns what Jane's been up to
Airs on Thursday, October 16 2008 at 19:30 BST on BBC One

Tanya's furious with Jack for letting slip to the girls about their proposed move to France. Jack suggests that they tell Max, but Tanya's having none of it - she doesn't want him to know anything. Abi's not happy with Tanya when she realises that they were going to leave without telling Max. Tanya relents and promises to tell Max about their plans the same day. Later, Max tracks down Tanya and apologises for his drunkenness last night. Later, Tanya's not happy with Jack when he arranges a French evening without telling her, prompting Abi to realise that Tanya hasn't told Max about their move. Jack's shocked at Tanya's handling of the situation when she tries to physically restrain Abi from leaving the house.

Max is heading across the Square and sees Jack leave the house. He turns up at Tanya's front door with a pizza, while over at R&R, Jack finds Ronnie in tears and subsequently reveals all about losing her baby. They share a tender kiss…

Meanwhile, Ian's becoming more and more suspicious about Jane's 'gym' sessions. Jane, however, doesn't know what to say when Ian suggests that he goes along with her. Later, Christian asks Ian for a lift to the airport in the hope of making Ian late to go to the 'gym' with Jane. When Christian refuses to tell Ian where Jane has been going, Ian spitefully tells him to make his own way to the airport. On the Square, Ian sees Tamwar and confronts him over Jane's behaviour. Tamwar relents and agrees to take Ian to Jane. Ian's bemused when he enters a seedy back room of a pub, where a compere introduces Mrs. Beale to the local comedy audience.

Elsewhere, Danielle's stressed after her police caution for handling stolen goods; Mo's on the warpath when she guesses who grassed Danielle up to the police; Ronnie admits to Roxy that she went to see Joel but couldn't go through with speaking to him again; Zainab spies on Tamwar in the Square; Roxy has an accident at the tube station, but Archie keeps Ronnie away from her sister; and Dr. Merritt gives Roxy and the baby the all-clear.

Ian issues Jane with an ultimatum
Airs on Friday, October 17 2008 at 20:00 BST on BBC One

Jack and Ronnie are kissing tenderly in the back room at R&R when Jack pulls away. Ronnie begins to wonder what might have been with Jack and asks him whether he wishes things were different between them. He admits that he does, but regretfully affirms that he's with Tanya now, so they're history. Over at the house, Tanya reluctantly lets Max into the house to eat pizza. Max immediately turns on the charm offensive and begins to reminisce about the old days. Max spots an unposted birthday card on the side and asks Tanya who it's for. She reveals that it's for Raine and when she walks out of the room, Max pockets it.

When Jack returns home, he's not happy when he finds Max eating pizza with Tanya. Max makes a hasty exit and a row between Jack and Tanya ensues over their move to France. Tanya, however, is firm – she'll tell Max when she's ready.

Meanwhile, Ian's furious at Jane's comedy routine which completely revolves around mocking everything about him. The audience love Jane's routine about Mr Beale, but Ian can only look on in embarrassment. Jane is on top of the world by the end of her performance, but she's unaware that Ian's seen and heard everything.

After Ian's walked out, Tamwar takes centre stage at the comedy club, while at home, Zainab and Masood are worrying as to his whereabouts. After his routine, Tamwar heads home and is left speechless when Zainab confronts him about his sexuality. He drops a bombshell on his parents, however, when he reveals that his ambitions have changed – he doesn't want to be a scientist any more, he wants to be a comedian.

When Jane returns home, she's puzzled when she finds Ian sitting alone in the dark and is even more shocked to discover that Ian heard her whole performance. Jane insists that Mrs Beale is a character she plays. She offers to do anything to prove her love for him, but Ian says that the one way she can prove that she loves him is by giving up comedy…

Elsewhere, Archie tries to rattle Sean about parenthood; Ronnie reveals to Roxy that she's told Jack about having to give up baby Amy; Jack asks Roxy if she knows who the father of her baby is, but she berates him for leading Ronnie on again; Roxy is stunned when Ronnie admits that she still loves Jack.
