George Michael told fans in London last night (August 24th) that he plans to release a Christmas single later this year.
The singer, who was performing the first of two final concerts at Earls Court, said the song would be available from Christmas Day.
It will accompany a cover of Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’, which he recorded for a US TV show earlier this year, Michael told fans.
The former Wham! Star made the revelation as he played the first of two shows in London, which have been dubbed the “final two”.
As expected, Michael treated his fans to a setlist which featured songs from his entire, including ‘Fast Love’, ‘Faith’ and ‘Amazing’.
Speaking earlier this year, Michael said he was ending his touring career because he wanted a quieter life.
His final London date today will be followed by a show in Copenhagen later this week, dubbed the “final one”.
The Killers and Elton John will release the Christmas single 'Joseph, Better You Than Me', reports The Sun.
The duet, scheduled for release in December, will not feature on The Killers' upcoming album Day And Age, which hits stores on November 24.
The Las Vegas group have previously released the festive songs 'A Great Big Sled' (2006) and last year's 'Don't Shoot Me Santa'. According to NME, The Killers plan to release a single every December until they have enough for a Christmas album.
The Killers yesterday debuted their new single 'Human' across radio stations. It will be available to buy on iTunes from September 30.
Don't forget Vernon Tomlin's (Corrie) recording

Boxer Ricky Hatton wants to release a Christmas single based on the 1967 hit 'Hi Ho Silver Lining'.
Hatton and comedian Joey Blower want to release a cover of the Jeff Beck hit with altered lyrics that refer to the boxer's fluctuating weight.
According to The Sun, the new chorus will include the lines: "And it's hi ho Ricky Hatton, he ate all the pies. He's never seen a salad, he ate all the pies."
The sports star wants Manchester City footballers and Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to guest on the track.
"It will be a great laugh," said a source. "A bit like the Tony Christie 'Amarillo' thing. It should do really well, especially in Manchester."

OH! Guess what’s occurrin’ - Gavin & Stacey star Ruth Jones is planning to storm the charts with a Christmas single.
Ruth, who plays the incredible Nessa, wants to take on this year’s X Factor winner for the Christmas No1 spot with a cover of the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers ’ cheesy Eighties’ hit (Barry) Islands In The Stream.
The song featured in the second series of the BBC3 comedy when Nessa and Uncle Bryn (Rob Brydon) deadpanned the duet at Gwen’s barn dance.
And with a one-hour Christmas special being penned for BBC2, Ruth reckons they can achieve chart glory.
Ruth, 41, told us: “The fans want us to release it as a Christmas single. There’s already a group on Facebook and I’m up for it.”
After four years of soppy X Factor singles topping the festive chart, we think it would be lush to see Nessa and Bryn pulling off a tidy performance on this year’s Top Of The Pops Christmas show.
It is rumoured the Christmas special will see Ruth and Smithy finally get together.
But all Ruth would say to us was: “It will all be very Christmassy - but I can’t tell you what happens.”
I am all for it if they can pull it off. :cheer:

Rolf Harris is remaking his classic song 'Two Little Boys'.
The entertainer has teamed up with a Welsh male vocal choir to re-record the hit, which enjoyed six weeks at number one, including Christmas week, in 1969.
Fron Male Voice Choir previously topped the classical album chart with 2006 release Voices Of The Valley - a record which also made the pop ten ten.
Other Harris hits include 'Tie My Kangaroo Down, Sport' and 'Jake The Peg'.

The final 12 contestants on The X Factor are set to record a charity single.
The singers, will release a cover of Mariah Carey’s hit Hero to raise money for Army charity Help For Heroes.
‘It’s a genius idea,’ a show insider tells the Daily Star. ‘In the past no one has been allowed to release a song before the winner.
‘But Simon has relaxed the rules and is releasing a single featuring all the finalists. Not everyone who makes the live shows ends up with a record deal, so this is a real gift for them.’
Mariah Carey is set to make a special appearance in the live shows.
Last Choir Standing winners, Only Men Aloud!, are vying to be this year's Christmas number one, with a double A-side single featuring two covers.
The single will include cover versions of All By Myself, which gave the choir their talent show victory, and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
The 18-strong Welsh male voice choir are hoping to prevent this year's X Factor winner reaching the top spot.
Bookmakers William Hill are offering odds of 10/1 on the choir's victory.
Spokesman Rupert Adams said: "The X Factor has killed the Christmas number one in the last few years, but at last we have a song that can take on the Cowell juggernaut.
"Last year the X Factor winner fared extremely badly really. There's potential, if the wrong winner is chosen, that they will be beaten."
Last Christmas, X Factor champion Leon Jackson topped the singles chart with When You Believe, while the 2006 winner, Leona Lewis, had the chart-topping album - a year after her debut single A Moment Like This soared to the Christmas number one spot.
A donation from the charity single, to be released on 15 December, will be made to homeless charity Shelter and its Welsh counterpart, Shelter Cymru.
The Cardiff choir was started eight years ago by Mr Rhys-Evans who wanted to create a young male voice choir unafraid to tackle music not usually performed by traditional male voice choirs.
What do you think about them winning perhaps? :)

Former 'Neighbours' star Jason Donovan is planning to re-record 'Especially For You', this time with Martine McCutcheon.
According to Digital Spy, Donovan said that he was keen to record the track again but thought that it would be "too cheesy" to team up with Minogue once more.
The actor said: "I wanted to do a spin on that song plus a new duet, but truthfully I thought it would be way too cheesy with Kylie again."
"I like the idea of singing with my 'Echo Beach' co-star Martine," he said.
"We tried but we could never get to the studio at the same time. However, she assures me we will get together for the next album."
"She's a great chick and a wonderful singer too."

The X Factor finalists are reportedly 'furious' that a song performed by Diana Vickers in Boot Camp has been chosen as the winner's single.
The remaining acts are angry that bosses have selected the song 'Hallelujah' to be released by this year's victor, according to The Mirror.
Judge Louis Walsh told Vickers she had "made the song her own" after she performed it earlier in the competition.
"Tempers are running high. They feel it is just the latest in a series of stunts that have left them wondering if the competition has already been won," said a source.
"Many suspect producers are paving the way for Diana to win and there is nothing they can do.
"They feel even if the public put her in the bottom two, the judges will always save her."
The competition winner will perform the Leonard Cohen track during the final show. The single will be released on December 15.

The single will be released on December 8 to help raise cash for Children in Need.
Sir Terry said: "Aled Jones sings like the canary that he is but listeners may also detect my croaking in the background and wonder if it's a rumbling of the stomach!"
Jones said: "It was a fantastically surreal experience recording at Abbey Road Studios with Sir Terry Wogan and, with tremendous support from the Chris Evans Show, the song is gaining momentum daily.
"I don't know if this wave of support will take us all the way to Top Of The Pops but we're having a lot of fun helping raise money for Children in Need."
Both presenters have previously enjoyed chart success.
Sir Terry's Floral Dance reached number 21 in 1978, with a bouquet-wielding performance on Top Of The Pops that "could have inspired Morrissey".
Jones enjoyed a number three hit in 1985 with Walking In The Air.
The single will feature three bonus tracks, including Mark Radcliffe's version of Right Said Fred with part of the profits going towards the charity.

Channel 4 is planning to follow up the massive success of Peter Kay’s ‘Britain’s Got The Pop Factor’, with a series of special programmes featuring the comedian during the Christmas season.
The highlight, Britain’s Got an Extra Pop Factor and Then Some, is a follow up to Britain’s Got the Pop Factor… and is a retrospective companion piece in the style of The Xtra Factor and It Takes Two. Presented by Ben Shepherd, this one-hour spoof programme features a countdown of the best performances from the series as voted by the ‘viewers’, and exclusive interviews with this year’s winner Geraldine McQueen, as well the chance to hear her new Christmas single Once Upon a Christmas Song. There are more auditions, more music plus a few more surprises.
The season also includes Peter Kay: Raider of the Pop Charts, a two part documentary that reveals the story behind Peter Kay’s numerous chart successes. It takes a unique look behind the scenes of all three of his iconic pop videos, featuring artists such as Texas and The Proclaimers, as well his more recent hit with Geraldine’s The Winner’s Song and her soon-to-be-released Christmas single.
There will also be another chance to see the full-length version of Britain’s Got the Pop Factor… plus a video exclusive on Channel 4 of Geraldine’s Christmas single.
The first transmission of Britain’s Got the Pop Factor… on 12th October attracted Channel 4’s highest ratings of the year, with an average audience of 6.1 million viewers tuning in across the 75-minute programme, peaking at 6.8 million.

The Strictly Come Dancing favourite will go up against this year's X Factor talent show winner in a bid to top the charts this Christmas.
The former political journalist has teamed up with television presenters Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley from The One Show to make the charity song.
The track, called "Let's Not Fight This Christmas", was penned by songwriter Chris Difford and is out on Dec 8.
Sergeant, 64, will need the help of his legions of fans if he is to seize the Number One slot with his crooning.
His effort must contend with a cover of Leonard Cohen's classic Hallelujah, which will be released by whoever wins the X Factor on December 15.
Sergeant quit the BBC One programme earlier this month after weeks of harsh criticism from the show's judges, who compared him to a "dancing pig in Cuban heels".
But he won a standing ovation from the studio audience as he performed his last Waltz with dancing partner Kristina Rihanoff after announcing his departure
STRICTLY hero John Sergeant has swapped Cha Cha Cha for La La La — and recorded a SONG in a bid to be the Christmas No1.
We can reveal that the flat-footed political journalist has teamed up with Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley of The One Show to make the charity single.
Tubby telly favourite John — who was unkindly referred to as the “dancing pig” of the hit Beeb show — will need all his legions of fans if he has any chance of taking on this year’s X Factor winner in the race for the coveted No1 slot.
An insider said: “John is such hot property right now and The One Show is delighted to have him involved. As for whether his singing is better than his dancing, the great British public will ultimately decide that.”
The single, called Let’s Not Fight This Christmas, was penned by award-winning songwriter Chris Difford and is out December 8. But John’s Strictly Hum Dancing routine will go up against legend Leonard Cohen’s classic Hallelujah — which will be released by whoever takes the X Factor crown on December 15.
The insider added: “Let’s Not Fight This Christmas is a great song — but with John’s added clout, it’s hope that the tune can take on the X Factor this Christmas and win.”

Aled Jones has revealed that he wants to end X Factor's monopoly on Christmas number ones.
The Welsh singer said he is hoping to finish the show's run of three consecutive festive chart toppers with his charity single 'Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth'.
The track, which features fellow Radio Two DJ Terry Wogan, will raise funds for Children In Need.
"Chris Evans heard it and proclaimed to the nation that it was his ambition to make it the Christmas number one as the antidote to X Factor," Jones told DS.
"I think the words he used were, let X Factor be number one for 51 weeks of the year, but for just this one, let's have something Christmassy and sentimental."
He continued: "Anything that challenges the norm is great, I think. X Factor has a monopoly on it. The fact is that I don't see this as a novelty song, it's not 'Bob The Builder'. This is a little bit more serious and we put our heart and soul into it."
Commenting on Wogan's vocal contribution, Jones joked: "I think he may have been having sneaky lessons. I think if you have a listen to ‘Floral Dance’ and then listen to this, he's much better on this. He's aged like a fine wine."
X Factor winners Leon Jackson, Leona Lewis and Shayne Ward landed the last three Chirstmas top spots.

Justin Lee Collins attempts to make a Christmas-themed song to the Christmas number one single slot - a feat not accomplished since Cliff Richard's Saviour's Day in 1990, excluding the re-recorded version of the 1984 song Do They Know It's Christmas? by Band Aid 20 in 2004.
In the end, they produced the song "I'm Goin' Home", featuring the following musicians:
David Essex (vocals)
Mud's Rob Davis (guitar)
Slade's Dave Hill (guitar)
Slade's Don Powell (drums)
Jona Lewie (piano)
Dave Mount (drums)
Showaddywaddy (backing vocals)
Justin Lee Collins (backing vocals and sleigh bells)
Liz Mitchell of Boney M and Aled Jones expressed interest in the project, but were ultimately unable to attend.
The song was to be released so it could compete to be Christmas number 1 but the record company axed the release. However it was available for download for the Channel 4 website and where it reached number 1 in the site's download chart.
A campaign has been launched to get Jeff Buckley to the top of the Christmas chart ahead of the winner of this year's X Factor.
Contestants Eoghan Quigg, Alexandra Burke or JLS will release a cover of Leonard Cohen song 'Hallelujah', but Buckley fans are drumming up support for his 1994 interpretation.
A Facebook group has been launched urging fans to help the Buckley track, which is currently at number 43 in the charts, reach number one by purchasing it online.
The group's description reads: "This is not a group intended to make cruel or derogatry remarks about any participants in this year's X Factor.
"But if you love Buckley's version, let's make sure everyone forgets the pale imitation as quickly as possible."
Buckley drowned in a tributary of the Mississippi River in 1996.

well it was on the news this morning that x factor is going to be number 1! and apparantly the bloke who wrote it is going to bag £1m from it
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke will definitely have this year's Christmas number one, a major music retailer has claimed.
'Hallelujah', which was released online yesterday, is the fastest-selling download ever and its position at the top of the chart on Christmas Day is virtually guaranteed, according to HMV.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes also predicted that Burke will be number one, with spokesperson Nick Weinberg saying: "It's as close to a certainty as you're likely to find."
Burke won Saturday's live final of the ITV1 show, beating JLS and Eoghan Quigg to claim a recording contract worth £1 million.
I hope x factor dont get number one. Just for a change i think someone who actually deserves it should get it.
None of the xfactor winners had songs that were remotely good enough to get to number one. Even Leona Lewis had that horrible song that somehow got to number one just cos shes from the xfactor.
Maybe ven this year a christmas song should get it as it is christmas for gods sake.
Three versions of the song 'Hallelujah' are expected to make it into the Christmas top 40.
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke's cover, which will likely take the number one spot, has sparked interest in the track, with a version by Jeff Buckley and Leonard Cohen's original also destined for Christmas chart places.
A Facebook group was recently launched to push the Buckley rendition, from his 1994 album Grace, to the top of the charts. It is expected to land at number three, while Cohen's version is sitting at number 34.
"I don't think this has ever happened in UK charts history, and certainly not for Christmas," HMV's Gennaro Castaldo told the BBC.
In 1955 four versions of 'Unchained Melody' - by Al Hibbler, The Les Baxter Orchestra, Jimmy Young and Liberace - all entered the UK top 40.
