Perhaps that's a tad misleading. We're not talking "episode" in the TV sense here, but a missing piece of the overall Supernatural puzzle that any fan worth their weight in salt (demon-repelling salt, at that) should really be eager to get hold of.
What am I banging on about? Supernatural: Origins, that's what! A six-part comic spinoff, Origins reveals what big Daddy Winchester did immediately after his wife was burnt to a crisp and shows exactly how he got stuck into the whole demon-hunting habit. There are some clever tie-ins and crossovers with the TV series, including appearances from a couple of minor characters not seen on the show for quite a while.
This is the next best thing, of course, to having Jeffrey Dean Morgan's physical presence back on the show (in short: they want him back badly but he's too busy lording it around on feature films right now, including the much-anticipated movie adaptation of The Watchmen).
Anyway, Supernatural: Origins - now available in a single book format from all good bookstores/Amazon/Play - is an absolute must-have. Especially if you're stuck waiting for season four of the TV show to start on ITV2, as there's still a good four months left to go...
