Monday 6th
Jo apologises to Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) for involving her in her troubles with Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) and promises to sort things out. When Jo tries to confide in Diane (Elizabeth Estensen), Andy warns her to keep everything private, or risk his wrath. Jo decides to call her mum and asks if she can come and stay for a while. Talking to Debbie (Charley Webb), Jo confesses Andy’s been hitting her for months. She announces her intention to leave Andy and states that Debbie must take Sarah (Sophia Amber Moore). Katie (Sammy Winward) catches them talking and questions Jo in the toilets. Noting her anxiety Katie is suss. While reading Sarah a bed time story, Jo worries that she can’t leave the child she’s come to regard as a daughter.
After a secret phone call from Anna (Emma Davies), Tim arrives and reveals to Katie (Sammy Winward) and Matthew (Matt Healy) that he wants to expand his stud into Home Farm, on the condition that security at the stables is increased, but that he’s had another offer so must act fast. Loathing the idea of letting a great deal go Matthew agrees they will go with it and he’ll clear it with Carl later. On the way home Matthew kisses Anna and she is secretly delighted to have Matthew just where she wants him.
Encouraged by Danielle’s (Nicola Stapleton) story, Jasmine (Jenna-Louise Coleman) is determined this may be her scoop and tells Shane (Paul McEwan) she is after some information on drug crime. Shane agrees although insisting it has to be over a drink. Aware Shane’s intentions are less than honourable, Jasmine reluctantly agrees and manages to get enough information from him to feel she’s getting near her story. Jake (James Baxter) is not amused that Jasmine’s cancelled their date . After an afternoon giving Shane the evil eye, Jake tries to get Jasmine on side with a drink.
Tuesday 7 October 7pm
Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) visits an awkward Katie (Sammy Winward), who tells him that she saw Jo (Roxanne Pallett) and Debbie (Charley Webb) talking in the pub and questions whether Jo is really pregnant. Meanwhile, Jo tells a tearful Debbie that she’s taking Sarah (Sophia Amber Moore) with her and says she’ll kill Andy if she stays. Later, Andy tries to force Jo to take a pregnancy test in front of him and she starts sobbing. Andy assumes that she lost the baby binge-drinking. She admits there never was a baby and when, Andy realises she lied out of fear, he begs for forgiveness and the couple collapse in each other’s arms. Andy promises that everything will be ok, but when he insists they sever ties with Debbie Jo realises nothing’s changed.

He begs Jo for help but when she tries to pull him off the spike, Andy slaps her in the face. Telling Andy that’s the last time he’ll ever touch her, Jo walks off telling him to die. Daz (Luke Tittensor) arrives at Butlers to find Andy barely conscious. Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) finds out from Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) that Jo’s lost the baby and they’re horrified to receive a phone call from Daz confirming Andy’s accident. Meanwhile, Jo has a change of heart and returns to find Daz frantic with worry. Andy is taken into an ambulance, his life in the balance.
At the café, Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) and Terry (Billy Hartman) are bemused by Brenda’s (Lesley Dunlop) obsessive cleaning. Trying to relax her mother, Gennie cooks dinner. When Gennie questions whether all the effort is for a man, Brenda rushes off. Gennie states her belief that Brenda needs a good man in her life. Later, taking Gennie’s advice, Brenda agrees to go for a meal with Doug (Duncan Preston). Brenda is less than sure she’s doing the right thing as Gennie suspects her mum has feelings for Bob.
While Anna (Emma Davies) and Matthew (Matt Healy) are keen to make the deal with Tim who is on his way, Jimmy (Nick Miles) is concerned that Carl hasn’t been informed. Matthew is about to call Carl but Anna distracts him long enough for Tim to turn up. Carl (Tom Lister) arrives back but despite Lexi (Sally Oliver) delaying him with amorous demands, he turns up at Home Farm just in time. Angry, he demands to speak with his brothers and insists that Anna is not to be trusted. Jimmy relents and agrees with him. Matthew simmers. They return to the room and inform Tim and Anna that they won’t be joining them in the deal. Anna is furious that Mathew has chosen Carl over her.
Wednesday 8 October
Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) remains unconscious and the Sugdens worry for his life. Daz (Luke Tittensor) queries Jo’s (Roxanne Pallett) strange behaviour and is not impressed by her no show at the hospital. Back in the village, Jo is urged to leave the village by Debbie (Charley Webb). Instead Jo heads to the hospital and is relieved to hear that Andy will be ok. Daz turns on Jo and accuses her of causing the accident. Jo prepares to tell the Sugdens about Andy’s violence but it called in by Andy before she can. A weak Andy tells Jo that they have to start again once he’s well but Jo tells him that she’s going to let Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) know the truth. Andy’s anger rises and he accuses Jo of being a liar and suggests that nobody will believe her. As he threatens never to let her see Sarah again, Jo knows she’s trapped. Outside, Diane overhears Jo wishing Andy dead and rushing in, warns Jo to get out. Andy plays along and infers that Jo has been hurting him. With Jo gone, Andy says that the reason for their troubles was because Jo lied about the pregnancy.
At Home Farm, Matthew (Matt Healy) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) suggest to Carl (Tom Lister) that he may have missed out on a good deal with Anna (Emma Davies). Carl soon realises that he may have been too hasty. After inspecting the stables Carl overturns the decision to the delight of Anna and Katie (Sammy Winward). They shake hands but the atmosphere is icy between them.
Back from holiday, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is intent on getting back to normal. However, Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) has changed everything round in the shop and café, hoping to impress him. She’s hurt when he’s annoyed and insists on putting it back. Bob is deflated and it’s clear he continues to miss Viv. He decides to quit the pub to concentrate on rebuilding the family businesses. However, when Betty (Paula Tilbrook) lets slip that Jamie (Alex Carter) Louise (Emily Symons) have set a date for the wedding Bob is adamant that they wait until Viv is released. Louise and Jamie agree to wait and Bob is thrilled to be asked to become Best Man. However, following a change of heart Bob tells Jamie to go ahead as planned, while announcing he’ll see Viv no matter what.

Debbie (Charley Webb) tells Jo (Roxanne Pallett) once more to flee the village but she is insists she wants to clear her name first. Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) stays with Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) who invents more lies about Jo threatening him with a knife. Diane is puzzled and her concern grows when Val (Charlie Hardwick) laughs off suggestions that Jo could manhandle Andy. After receiving a mouthful from Daz (Luke Tittensor), Debbie (Charley Webb) confronts Diane and starts to convince her that it was Andy who beat Jo. Daz is incensed and heads to Butlers with Diane to talk with Jo. As Daz’s anger rises when Jo refuses to back down, Diane notes her anguish at his aggression and her worst fears are confirmed. Diane comforts Jo and Jo confides that there was no pregnancy. Diane is shocked as the extent of Jo’s hatred towards Andy is revealed. After making sure Jo is alright, Diane returns to the hospital and confronts Andy about his actions. He claims that Jo’s lying but Diane isn’t to be swayed and coldly tells him that until he’s ready to be truthful, she won’t allow Sarah anywhere near him.
Meanwhile, Jamie (Alex Carter) and Louise (Emily Symons) are frustrated that Nicola has gone on holiday leaving their plans unmade. Jamie suggests Donna could be bridesmaid but Louise isn’t happy. She admits to Terry (Billy Hartman) and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) that she won a beauty contest in Australia and would like to experience the same high on her wedding day. Conscious that the last thing she needs is to be upstaged by a younger bridesmaid, she asks Betty (Paula Tilbrook) to be her matron of honour.
Desperate to see Viv, Bob intends to attend an open audition for a drama teacher at the prison, posing as Terry. Terry tries to dissuade him but Bob ploughs ahead and is unsurprisingly unsuccessful. For a plan B, he asks Jamie if he could change postal rounds in order to do the prison run. Jamie reluctantly agrees but Terry warns them they could both end up in prison themselves.

Lily (Anne Charleston) thinks her prayers have been answered when the factory raffle syndicate comes up trumps and they win a car worth £15,000. The factory workers celebrate and are thrilled to discover that selling the car would mean a windfall of three grand each. Lily excitedly gets on the phone to tell Peter (Philip Bird) she’ll have £3000 to give to him for his business scheme. Meeting him, Lily falters when he admits it’s not nearly enough and Peter deviously hints that £15000 would do the trick. Wracked with guilt, Lily gives Peter the winning raffle ticket, claiming that the other girls had nothing to do with it.
Wearing a borrowed postman uniform, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) accompanies a nervous Jamie (Alex Carter) to the prison. Let inside the gates, Bob is thrilled to see Viv (Deena Payne) and shouts out to her much to Jamie’s shock. However Bob’s holler goes unheard by the guards, so he blares the car horn, attracting Viv’s attention. Despite mouthing ‘I love you’ to a shocked Viv she gives him no response and Jamie urgently ushers a disappointed Bob away. Back at the café, shaken by the morning’s events, Jamie insists that Bob drop his plan to get into the prison.
Elsewhere, Terry (Billy Hartman) is quick to work out Louise’s (Emily Symons) motives behind asking Betty (Paula Tilbrook) to be bridesmaid. Meanwhile Betty throws herself into organising a hen do.
