EASTENDERS newlyweds Roxy and Sean Slater face heartbreak as their baby is born two months premature.
In agonising scenes, the tot’s life is left hanging by a thread.

Roxy and Sean had a quickie wedding this summer after Roxy, played by Rita Simons, fell pregnant.

The pair have made their unsteady marriage work by preparing for the arrival of their first child.

But a desperately-ill Roxy is rushed to hospital this November after going into early labour.

An Albert Square source said: “It’s a terrible time for Roxy and Sean. While the baby wasn’t planned, it has really brought them together.

“The baby has given Sean something to live for and he’s even kicked the drugs.”

The unplanned pregnancy came after Roxy slept with both Sean and sister Ronnie’s then bad-boy partner Jack Branning, played by Scott Maslen.

The marriage of Roxy and hubby Sean, played by Rob Kazinsky, faced fierce opposition from her family — especially sister Ronnie.

Our source added: “They got married after Sean pledged his love for the unborn baby.

“They’ve turned their lives around preparing to become parents.

“As far as Roxy’s concerned, her pregnancy has finally brought her beloved dad Larry back into her life and given her the stability that she has always dreamed of having.”

When all the Mitchells and Slaters gather at Roxy’s bedside, it looks like the tiny tot just might not make it . . .

But then again, Mitchells are fighters.

An EastEnders spokesperson said: “We can’t comment on future storylines.”

yeh probably. i was thinking to start with it would probably need blood or something but i dunno. tbh after its all been revealed, i reckon the baby wll die

Why can't a couple be happy for once, why couldn't Sean have kicked the drugs for good etc all because he wanted to to prepare for being a dad etc?
Why does soemthing have to happen to every soap baby born?

Poor Sean and Roxy. Think it could be another who's the daddy thing again? - boring seen it before once or twice.

With the baby being ill, they will require a bone marrow or blood from a biological parent. This is were we will find out that the father is Jack and not Sean.

That would make sense, Sean finds out he is not the father, dumps Roxie, has a fight with Jack and then departs Walford, whether in a taxi or on the tube remains to be seen. :D

Isnt her dad called archie??

I hope the baby is okay, Sean is the Dad and they get a hapy ever after - well at least for now

The actor playing Archie is called Larry, the paper obviously got the two names mixed up :lol: As for Roxy and Sean being happy ever after - he is leaving by Christmas, so it will not be for ever after.

What, you have not read on here that Sean is leaving? Been known on here for quite a while. The actor asked to be written out to pursue an acting career in the States.

I don't think this is going to be that realistic to be honest. These days babies survive much more than 2 months premature. I was 2 months premature and there's a lot more technology now than there was 16 years ago. I knew the Jack thing would come up somewhere.

but it depends whats wrong with it though. if its just born premature but is otherwise fine and healthy then i agree that its likely to survive, however there could be something very badly wrong with it which could mean it might not which i dont think would be unrealistic
