A Ouija board, also called a talking board, consists of a lap-sized board printed with the alphabet, the numbers 0-9, the words yes, no and goodbye. A planchette, a small, heart shaped, table-like pointer, is placed on the board. Two or more people place the tips of their fingers loosely on the planchette while asking questions. The planchette is supposed to move around the board, spelling out names, messages, numbers and so on. There are several theories as to how this happens.

Still sounds like the weegie (ouija) board to me

It isnt, as I saw it on most haunted and it is the one i've found now, but I always thought ouija boards were used with a glass, as the one im talking about doesnt involve letters it literally just draws out a shape, and has sometimes been known to draw/write proper words

I've, well me and a couple of friends have done a ouija board before. And it worked. On 18th april 2007 we lost a friend at 14, so we thought we could try and contact him, aswell as another girl who died exactly the same date but a year before. So we set up this ouija board with a shot glass and myself and two or three other girls from a different school sat around the table. We started asking like is anyone there and all this and then we like realised it was Dom. So because I was the only one who actually knew him that was sat around the table at the time, I asked what's in our school. The reply we got was RE, which being a catholic school i thought was relevant. Then it started spelling out a word - T - h - o -m, until it finished reading Thompson, Mrs. Thompson had been our RE teacher all the way through school. (: It was quite an emotional thing and me and a couple of other girls from my school ended up in tears!
