Monday 1 September 2008

Hearing that his brother hasn't been home all weekend, Daz (Luke Tittensor) volunteers to try and find him. Daz finds Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) in a state after a weekend bender and finds him reluctant to return for fear that his family don’t want him. Daz urges his brother not to hurt Sarah (Sophia Amber Moore) the way they were hurt by Billy.

Meanwhile in the Woolpack, Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) enjoy winding up the customers about how uptight everyone has got about the village show. They are however no longer amused when Jamie (Alex Carter) orders them out of the pub.In an act of vengeance, on their way home they steal all of what they think are Jamie’s prize vegetables.

Elsewhere, with her efforts at manipulating Gabby (Annelise Manojlovic) proving useless, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) conspires to use Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to get another story out of Rodney (Patrick Mower).

Tuesday 2 September

Matthew (Matt Healy) is blind-sided by a face from the past brandishing a gun.The situation worsens when Katie (Sammy Winward) returns early from the village show and carelessly strays into the gunman’s path. Struck with a combination of shock and terror, Katie finds herself in the same predicament as Matthew, with both their lives on a knife-edge. Meanwhile, Carl (Tom Lister) and Jimmy (Nick Miles) grow concerned at their brother’s absence and head back to Home Farm to find him. Hearing raised voices, Jimmy and Carl watch as a tense hostage situation unfolds. With both brothers unarmed, will either risk their own lives to save Matthew and Katie?

Meanwhile, as the villagers prepare to showcase their exhibits, Terry (Billy Hartman) is furious that his vegetables are missing and blames Jamie (Alex Carter). Terry searches in vain for Jamie and mentions to Marlon (Mark Charnock) and Paddy (Dominic Brunt) that his vegetables were stolen. The truth dawns on the pair and they make a hasty retreat when Terry vows to get his own back. Borrowing Jamie’s dog whistle, Terry causes chaos before the start of the dog obedience challenge. The out of control pooches dash toward the pie eating contest and cause Shadrach (Andy Devine) to ruin Nicola’s (Nicola Wheeler) quilt.

Wednesday 3 September

Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) winds Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) up by reporting back with a story from Rodney (Patrick Mower) that makes it sounds like he is on to her. Will Nicola find out that Belle has been playing her at her own game?

Meanwhile at the cafe, Doug (Duncan Preston) is taken aback when, after Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) snaps at him, Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) remarks that her mum always reacts that way when she likes someone. Spotting an opportunity Doug spends the day helping out Brenda in the café.


Thursday 4 September 7pm

Doug (Duncan Preston) goes to see Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) at the shop and apologises for his assumptive behaviour. However, when Brenda gets them a coffee Doug can’t seem to stop scratching himself. Brenda is disturbed to see Doug seemingly interfere with himself and distressed, she throws him out and rings the police. Will the police arrest Doug for his strange behaviour?

Elsewhere, Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is concerned Rodney (Patrick Mower) might know the truth and is jumpy after he almost catches her on the phone to the publisher. Suspicious, Rodney corners David (Matthew Wolfenden). Will Nicola's cagey lover be able to hide her scheming?

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is rankled is by McNally’s (Steven Farebrother) quest for a story when he catches him stirring trouble amongst the villagers regarding Viv’s charity dealings. After throwing him out of the cafe he is furious when McNally returns and starts badgering him to tell his side of the story.

Friday 5 September

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is perturbed to discover McNally (Steven Farebrother) has written a misleading article in the courier and it isn’t long before Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) decides she wants her money back. Later in the pub, Bob insists Viv pleaded guilty to save her family and nothing else but Nicola claims the villagers all want their money back. Bob is shocked to hear that they plan to sue him.

Meanwhile, at the café, Doug (Duncan Preston) apologises to Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) and explains the reason for his scratching - he's got crabs. He’s embarrassed to realise she already knew and is stunned when it seems that other villagers do too. Seeing his humiliation, will Brenda accept his apology?

Elsewhere, Debbie (Charley Webb) is furious at Zak (Steve Halliwell) for spending the day fishing with Donald (Michael Jayston) when he should have been on duty. Debbie insists he hand over Donald's handsome tip, leaving Zak fuming.
