The Bill star Alex Walkinshaw has revealed that he dreams of landing a part in EastEnders.

Alex, who plays Sgt Dale Smith on the ITV1 show, confirmed that he would love to be offered a role in Albert Square.

Walkinshaw also praised the performance of his former co-star Scott Maslen on the BBC One soap. Maslen played Sun Hill's DS Phil Hunter for five years before he quit to join EastEnders as Jack Branning.

"I've watched Scott in EastEnders, they're really lucky to have him," Walkinshaw is quoted by the Daily Star as saying. "It would be lovely to try something like that. I could be Jack Branning's geeky cousin!"

Yeah, but just lately it's seemed to be a two way process. I'm betting he'll be on EastEnders within a year.

Alex Walkinshaw made this remark some time ago. It was made tongue in cheek and a bit of a dig at the crossover between EE and the Bill. It has only just been published in that well know EE fanmag Inside Soap.
