View Full Version : Tennant is Dr Glue
BEEB bosses are more hopeful than ever that David Tennant WILL stay on as Doctor Who — after wooing him with a £1.5million deal.
They had feared the Scot, 37, was sure to quit after filming four more specials of the BBC1 sci-fi hit.
But last night a source said he could stay as the Timelord for the fifth series to be screened in 2010.
As TV Biz revealed, show boss Russell T Davies quit and has been replaced by top writer Steven Moffatt.
The source said: “It will be a new team and David has to meet everyone to make a final decision.
“But we’re gearing up to offer him a massive deal. He’s interested. Everyone thought he was going, but it’s not as open and shut as that.”
Filming would not start until autumn 2009, but bosses are believed to want a deal by this autumn.
The actor is making four specials this year instead of a series as he is also playing Hamlet at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
The Christmas episode is now finished.
David’s real-life love Georgia Moffett, 23, returns as his daughter Jenny for one of the Who specials.
god, will he go already!? i'm sick to the back teeth of him! time for a change!

i think its good that hes staying. it would start to get a bit stupid if all the actors playing the dr only stayed for a few series

 How can you not be a Mr Tennant Fan  I'm waiting to see the Christmas Special with David Morrissey in it as he is tipped to be in the running as the new Dr. If he's half as good in Dr Who in other roles he's played I'm jumping ship
I love David Tennant, i think he is by far the best doctor he suits the role and he is gorgeous
And Yay Jenny comes back :)

Jenny will be just what he needs after losing Donna. I wonder who the next companion will be...
Yeah, as Martha said, she thought Jenny was something for the Doctor to live for, and he'll definitely need that after not only losing Donna, but her not even remembering him and the places they visited. He'll probably be pretty cut up after having to lose Rose again because the other Doctor committed genocide. For the Doctor's sake I hope the next companion is Jenny, but I highly doubt it. I'm glad she's back though - I wondered why they'd had the last scene of her flying off when she didn't appear in the finale.
I didn't realise Georgina and David were together. It seems his girlfriends always appear in it now. Sophia Myles played Madame De Pompadour.
From what i've read, he met Sophia and Georgia on set :)
It would be too werid if he left cos then by series 5 it would be like a new different show with changes to the doctor and companion

That is a great idea! And even if the void is closed, there is no reason why we shouldn't have a story set in their dimension.

im guessing theyll be like the xmas ones usually are, but are doing a few extra cos of there not being a full series?
Yeah I assume there's the Christmas one, then 4 in 2009 because they said 4 specials next year. I assume they'll be an hour long, as that's what specials have been in the past. Journey's End was longer, but then that wasn't really a special because it was part of the Series.
