Girls Aloud will feature in an online soap opera, the Daily Star claims.
Created by label Universal, The Secret World Of Sam King will revolve around a post room worker at a recording company who secretly sets up his own office and begins to discover new acts.
A source said of the Girls Aloud appearance: "They're all really excited - it promises to be a lot of fun. They've made a lot of really cool videos and appeared in the St Trinian's film last year.
"But this is the first time they've had the chance to show off their acting talents."
Acts such as Duffy, Razorlight, Amy Winehouse and The Feeling have also been mooted as possible guest stars.
