View Full Version : Corrie's 'Rosie' hopes to be a role model
Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan has revealed that she wants her curvy image to send out a positive message to the soap's fans.
The actress, who plays Rosie Webster on the ITV1 show, admitted that she has been putting the pounds back on after becoming too thin last year.
"Last year I was a size eight, but I think it's so much sexier to be curvy," Flanagan told New! magazine. "I'm also aware that I have to be responsible.
"There are girls watching me on television and I'd hate it for a girl to think I was skinny on TV and that she wanted to look the same."
Flanagan recently said that she is "flattered" by the attention she has received from male Corrie fans over the past few months.
I for one am glad that she is not stick thin but no doubt in a few years she will have a fitness video out

Some role model when all she is doing lately is flashing her bit at all and sundry on street, expectially her dad - I think she has a little growing up to do before making statements like that.
There's a difference between an actor and character. It's Rosie who is being precocious, Helen is just playing the character how it is written.

now if only Corrie didn't dress her so badly and she could remember how to act instead of pouting...

i know there is a difference between characters and actors but everybody knows that not all the public can make that distinction and for Rosie to be flashing her bits and then the actor saying she wants to be a role model IMHO are a contradiction.

Isnt she or was a WAG?
I hate her character Rosie Webster
She dated a footballer but I think it is all over now.
I'm kinda gals she has said that about curves at least she is trying to be a good role model
Her showing cleavage is all part of her character in my opinion, she couldn't really play the character she plays without it. But very good how she's taken action to try and be a role model, not many young actresses who are thin would do that.

IT’S all soapstar so good for England defender MICAH RICHARDS. He and Corrie’s HELEN FLANAGAN are becoming a real item.
The young Manchester City star recently bought a home in Hale, Cheshire, for £3million and Helen — the Street’s Rosie Webster — has been its most frequent visitor.
A pal said: “They’ve tried to keep it quiet but are getting pretty serious.
“It’s been going on for almost six months which is a big deal for these two. She’s been spending a lot of time at his house and we reckon she could be moving in before long.”
The pair started dating in February after meeting on the Manchester party circuit.
Six months? Now that is a long time for Micah.
He was shamed last year when he and a pal filmed themselves on a mobile phone engaging in sordid sex with a young female fan in a hotel’s disabled toilet.
That only lasted 87 seconds.

I'm not a huge fan of rosie, her character is kind of tacky.
