View Full Version : Viv
Not sure where to put this, I am sure there was a thread on this but I can't find it.
Viv must be leaving shortly for her year's break. Anybody got any idea when and how she is leaving? I imagine she gets sent to prison for fraud with the current storyline. What do you think?
Silly me, just found this on Wiki:
Viv's departure
It was announced by ITV on November 7, 2007 that Deena Payne will be exiting the soap in 2008, but return after a 12 month break in 2009.
Charity fraud
Viv began raising money for children's charities, a drive which gained a much larger profile when Ashley Thomas and Laurel Thomas lost their son Daniel to cot death. Unfortunately for Viv, the man she entrusted with the charity money, Freddy Yorke, took the money and vanished, while her name was signed on the documents. Viv and Bob went to the police, but a flustered Viv only managed to implicate herself, as she admitted to moving funds around to try to help with the shortfall. Viv and Bob tried to keep the investigation a secret, but she was arrested at a party thrown for her at the Woolpack in honour of her charity efforts.
Both Viv and Bob were charged with conspricy to defraud.
The Hopes on Trial
The Hopes are due to stand a one week trail in August 2008.

I don't think she will get sent to prison as being found guilty of fraud who get her more than a year. I think she will do a runner to go and find Freddie and clear her name.
Never thought of that. You could be right there, however, we have had Cain do a runner, will they have another one in the Dales again? :hmm:
It can't be long now before Viv is back in Emmerdale, she wanted a year off and she left in August, a brief appearance when Bob tried to visit her in jail. I hope she comes back in time before Bob and Gennie do something stupid and perhaps we will see the twins again. :)

It doesn't feel like it's been a year since the trial. I hope they go back to the old comical Viv and Bob.
The trial was in August, I expect we will see her on screen again around that time.

I am going to feel sorry for Viv when she gets back because from the looks of it
Bob and Gennie start an affair.
I wonder how will Viv be when she returns - surely prison will have changed her :hmm:

She may be a bit toned down, and may just want to stay at home with her family, as she has been away from her family for so long.
I am looking forward to seeing her again, I love when she gossips it hasn't been the same without her, with the likes of the OAP's having a gossip, it just didn't feel the same without Viv.
Prison will more than likely have changed her but I hope she will soon be the same interferring Viv we all knew and loved. :D

When is she more than likely back on screen?
I think it will be August/September :)

Hopefully the Bob/Gennie thing would have fizzled out and we can have the old gossiping mutton dressed as lamb Viv back.

Viv has been gone for too long- I miss her there is no way that Bob and Gennie could work but I wonder how Viv will be towards Bob as she hasn't wanted to see him for so long
Emmerdale actress Deena Payne has returned to filming with the show following her year-long break.
In 2007, the 54-year-old, who plays Viv Hope in the Yorkshire serial drama, announced her intention to take a 12-month break to spend more time with her family and concentrate on her charity.
Her exit storyline saw her screen counterpart Viv sentenced to a year's imprisonment after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud when conman Freddie Yorke (Keith Woodason) stole her charity money and left her to foot the blame.
However, the lives of her family and friends have moved on significantly since her departure, as her husband Bob's (Tony Audenshaw) financial crisis resulted in Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) investing in the business, while he has also recently been struggling with his feelings for flatmate and co-worker Gennie Walker (Sian Reece-Williams).
Speaking of her return, Payne said: "The year off did just the trick. I have come back to lots of big hugs and smiley faces which makes it pretty much worth having had the time off. By my second scene it felt like I had never been away but had just gained loads of enthusiasm."
She added: "I am ready to handle whatever fantastic storylines are thrown at me."
Audenshaw added: "It's great to have Deena back. By our second scene together it felt like she had never been away, which is testament to her as an actress. Viv and Bob have some great scenes together coming up and I am really looking forward to getting stuck in."
Payne returned to filming last week and will make her screen comeback on July 14.

She has to come back before Bob makes an idiot of himself with Gennie!

Can you imagine the bickering that will happen when she finds out about Brenda investing in her place?

I totally agree on the part were she has to come back before something stupid happens between Bob and Gennie, as that relationship/fling is just plain wrong, as he is old enough to be her Father:sick:
I cannot wait for the fireworks between her Bob and Brenda, over the whole business deal.:nono:

I don't think its the age thing that gets me its how silly Gennie acts if she much more sensible then I wouldn't mind but she is just so odd and Brenda is another I dislike I felt she used Terry and slept with him because he was there and not Bob

But everyone forgets Gennie is a Dingle, so basically every Dingle has to be weird or crazy in some way. Don't like Brenda either, she does come across as a woman who has just settled with any man who was interested hence Terry, we all know that she wants Bob more:sick: , I mean at least they gave Terry some form of storyline with Brenda as he has become furniture in the last few years.

I like Chas and she is not wierd she has her head screwed on even if she won't admit being crazy about Carl :(

Yeah Chas seems to be the only Dingle that has a bit of sense and morals, whereas the other Dingles are just plain weird.

The Dingles that I like and can cope with being on screen are
Charity
Chas
Cain (mainly the old Cain)
Aaron (even though hes a Livesy)
Thats about it I used to like Marlon, but not now.

Marlon acts the fool too much and I hated it when him and Donna got together for a man who loved Tricia as much as he did I couldn't believe he would marry so soon
