DOES this man look familiar? He certainly will to Coronation Street fans of a certain era ... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/soaps/article1335551.ece

Yes, jailbird Jed Stone - played by Kenneth Cope who returns to the role - is back on the cobbles after four decades away!

Jed hasn't been seen on the Street since he was sent to jail in 1966 - but now he's back, and is causing chaos for Tony's expanding business empire ...

Kenneth Cope joined the cast to play dodgy Jed in 1961, and stayed for five years. He also has appeared in several Carry On films, Brookside and had a leading role in 1960s hit Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased).

Welcome back, Kenneth! We can't wait to see what trouble he's going to cause ...

i remember him in "Brookie" back in the day, god it makes me feel old thinking of Brookside!

wonder why he's back and what connections he has to the street.

I must say this whole Tony taking over Coronation Street idea sounds like an interesting storyline.

Kenneth Cope returned to filming after a 42-year break as wheeler dealer Jed 'Sunny Jim' Stone.

Jed's now an elderly tenant who's standing in the way of one of Tony Gordon's (Gray O'Brien) new developments.

Wonder how long he will be standing in the way of Tony's new developments. Sounds interesting, at long last something for Corrie to get its teeth into again storywise.

I think this may lead to a decent storyline, remember that is similar to how Roy joined the street he was one of Mike Baldwin's tenents who stayed in flats and they were protesting against the rent charges being raised.
