Resident Hollyoaks psycho Barry Sloane has compared his character's mental imbalance to that of an adult David Platt.
Earlier this year, his character Niall Rafferty was seen injecting his half-sister Michaela McQueen (Hollie-Jay Bowes) with heroin, shopping his mother Myra McQueen (Nicole Barber-Lane) for benefit fraud, and attacking his grandmother in the street.
Speaking to DS, the 27-year-old said: "Niall's behaviour has just turned childish now - he's like an adult David Platt but 100 times scarier. He's got that same kind of annoying 'boy thing'. He's just attention seeking."
At the end of this week, Niall accidentally kills Max Cunningham (Matt Littler), one of the show's most iconic characters, in a car accident.
Speaking of his role in the storyline, Sloane added: "I was gutted really because Matt [Littler]'s such a great guy and plays a great character. Ultimately, it's brilliant just to be part of it all. It's just sad to see him go. The episodes are some of the best material that I've done."
His character's reign of terror over his blissfully unaware family is to continue through the summer when Niall's attentions turn to half-brother John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and Father Kieron Hobbs (Jake Hendriks).
