Wednesday 2nd July
After receiving a call that a young boy is playing with a weapon, DC Jacob Banks (Patrick Robinson) finds himself literally looking down the barrel of a gun as terrified Emile Grover (Mohammed Mansaray) attempts to hand it over without pulling the trigger. Once the gun is safely in Banksy’s hands, Emile is taken into the station for questioning where he admits he was given the gun to look after by Andre Tyrell (Dickon Tolson) who has been boasting he can smuggle British army weapons from Iraq to the streets of Sun Hill.
Elsewhere, new recruit PC Mel Ryder (Rhea Bailey) is paired with Sergeant Smith (Alex Walkinshaw) on her first day. They are called to a break-in where Sarah Figgis (Sandra Huggett) claims her ex-husband Billy (Daniel Caltagirone) has trashed the place. The officers trace him to a local hostel where they discover Billy, an ex-soldier, had been awarded for bravery. Mel’s first day takes a turn for the worse when Billy manages to pull a gun on the terrified officers and handcuffs them together before making a run for it.
Later, Sarah rushes to the station to tell Smithy and Mel that her son, Josh (Arron Jackson), has gone missing and she is certain that Figgis has taken him. However, when Figgis is brought in, he is horrified to hear about his son’s disappearance and swears he has nothing to do with it, but admits he has been smuggling guns for Tyrell. When officers realise that Emile has also gone missing, they realise that Tyrell has both boys. Will the officers get to them in time?
Thursday 3rd July
PCs Nate Roberts (Ben Richards) and Ben Gayle (Micah Balfour) are out in their patrol car when they find distressed driver, Becka Davis (Zawe Ashton), shaking in her seat. Back at the station, PC Mel Ryder (Rhea Bailey) gently questions Becka, who tearfully reveals that she ran out to her car after she was attacked by a stranger in her home.
After further investigation, Mel and PC Roger Valentine (John Bowler) arrest Becka’s ex-boyfriend, Rick Davis (Samuel Oatley), who is adamant that the DNA found on Becka doesn’t belong to him. Later, suspect Jeremy Williams (Johnathan Roberts) is questioned over the attack. Officers are surprised when he openly admits that he broke into Becka’s house but claims they met on an internet chat room where she told him to attack her. Officers realise that someone has been posing as Becka on the internet to set up the attack, but who?
Elsewhere, Superintendent Heaton (Daniel Flynn) offers Sergeant Smith (Alex Walkinshaw) the opportunity to go undercover in order to expose a gun running racket. Smithy is warned that it’s a dangerous operation so will be given a whole new identity. D.C. Stevie Moss (Lucy Speed) is amused to learn that she will be acting as his girlfriend throughout the operation. Ex-gun runner, Billy Figgis (Daniel Caltagirone) agrees to help and tells the officers that a violent man called Kieran Wallace (Rupert Hill) is the man Smithy needs to get in with.
No mention of Mini Copper the pygmy probationer:cheer:
