I was talking to Roy Hudd yesterday (as you do) and asked him if he would be returning to Coronation Street any time. He said there were no plans but he might do. He then said that the rest of the cast hate it when they know he's returning as it means at least one of them will die...:lol:

I've actually known Roy for quite some time.

In another life I am chairman of the Clacton & District Local History Society. Roy started his career as a redcoat at Butlin's in Clacton and then went on to appear for a couple of years in the town's Ocean Theatre Summer Show back in the 1960s. He has always been very willing to help us (the local history society) as he always considers Clacton to be the town that gave him his start in showbiz.

On Wednesday this week we opened a new exhibition at Clacton Library on Butlin's and he came down to open it for us. We were both featured on Anglia News all day yesterday in all their news bulletins. And that's where I asked him about Coronation Street.
