Jack P. Shepherd has revealed that he wants his Coronation Street character to return to his villainous ways.

The actor said he hopes David Platt, who has turned over a new leaf since leaving prison, will be back to his old tricks before too long.

He said: "I definitely want David to be evil again. I love playing that side of him. The badder he is, the better it is for me! New scripts are ready at the moment but I don't know what's in them. I really hope he goes back to his old tricks."

However, he revealed that David is determined to make a fresh start since his release from jail, saying: "He is a lot calmer than before as well. He wants to continue in hairdressing and make a stab at carving out a career for himself."

Shepherd won the prize for best villain for the role at this year's British Soap Awards.

There is only so long the writers can focus on one character before the public get bored. The writers should concentrate on other storylines for a bit and gives us a rest from demon David.

I agree. I like him better now he's kinda settling down. It did start to get a bit tedious after a while.

I think it would be good for David to bond well with his grandad for a while. Calm him down a bit for a while, let him turn over a new leaf for real this time.
