Steve (Simon Gregson) is trying to keep Michelle (Kym Ryder) sweet with a big fry-up but she points out that he should be crawling to Dan (Matthew Crompton) and not her. Steve decides to tackle it via Harry (Jack Ellis) however Dan is determined not to back down despite his dad trying to persuade him to drop the charges. Meanwhile Steve is increasingly uncomfortable when Becky (Katherine Kelly) turns up in the pub. She is still ignoring Jason (Ryan Thomas) and joins Roger and Janice in a game of darts to prove she isn't interested in him.
Liam (Rob James Collier) and Maria (Samia Smith) are back in Weatherfield and determined to make a go of things. Liam tells Maria he still wants to try for another baby and asks Maria to start wearing her wedding ring again. At the Rovers he spots Carla (Alison King) and makes it clear to her that he and Maria are back on track. Carla feigns disinterest but as she has more to drink she decides to give Liam an ultimatum - either sell his share of the factory to Tony (Gray O'Brien) or she'll spill the beans about their liaison.
Elsewhere Roger (Andrew Dunn) and Ken (William Roache) continue to enjoy their intellectual discussions and Lloyd (Craig Charles) buys some computer games off Ryan (Ben Thompson) for Finlay (Ramone Quinn).

Michelle (Kym Ryder) is getting tired of hearing about Steve's (Simon Gregson) attempt to apologise to Harry (Jack Ellis) over the Dan (Matthew Crompton) situation. Steve is convinced he has done the right thing though and it seems as though his perseverance has paid off when Harry tells him that Dan has finally agreed to go to the police and change his statement. Steve has a nervous few hours until Dan finally arrives in the pub. Have the police accepted his change of story and is Steve finally in the clear?
Ken (William Roache) has been invited to a university reunion. Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) thinks he should go but Ken is concerned that his life hasn't amounted to much and he doesn't think he can face his old friends.
The factory girls are pleased to have Liam (Rob James Collier) back but Carla (Alison King) makes it very clear to him that she was serious about him selling his share of the business to Tony (Gray O'Brien). Liam doesn’t want to sell leaving Carla furious - she makes an appointment at the salon with Maria (Samia Smith) - but is she going for her hair done or to spill the beans?
Mel (Emma Edmondson) is convinced Teresa (Karen Henthorne) has had her hands in the till and confronts her. To her surprise Teresa comes clean and confesses. But she lies and tells Mel that she needed the money to buy some presents for Finlay (Ramone Quinn) - showing the bag of games Lloyd had given her as proof!
Elsewhere Becky (Katherine Kelly) is uneasy around Michelle but is not happy when Roy (David Nielson) refuses to let her serve her and sends her out on an errand instead.

Mel (Emma Edmondson) is furious with Teresa (Karen Henthorne) for nicking money out of the kebab shop till despite the fact that she says she spent the money on Finlay. Later Mel is puzzled when Lloyd (Craig Charles) shows interest in whether Finlay liked his computer games. She is stunned when he confesses that he is Finlay's dad. Her reaction to the confession leaves him speechless however when she storms round to the house with him in tow and demands he tell Jerry (Michael Starke) and Teresa what he has just told her. How will Jerry react to this bombshell?
Carla (Alison King) is at the salon and tells a bemused Maria (Samia Smith) that Liam (Rob James Collier) has gone to the gym with Tony (Gray O'Brien). Meanwhile Liam has finally given in to Carla's demands and offers the factory to him at a knock-down price. He's surprised when Tony plays hard to get and tells him he'll think about it. When Tony tells Carla about the deal she advises him to make Liam an offer.
Liz (Beverly Callard) is being surprisingly attentive and her behaviour is making Vernon (Ian Reddington) slightly uneasy but he is pleased when she tells him she will go with him to the recording studio.

When he finally does get in touch he makes it clear he is not willing to pay what Liam wants, Carla (Alison King) meanwhile makes it clear to Liam that she expects him to sell even at a loss. When Liam refuses she picks up the phone to the salon leaving him no choice but to bow to her wishes or lose Maria (Samia Smith). How will Maria react to the news he has sold the factory?
David (Jack P Shepherd) is still waiting for the reference from Audrey (Sue Nicholls) but when he eventually gets it he realises it isn't worth the paper it is written on and he decides not to go for the job. However when Tina (Michelle Keegan) and David (Jack P Shepherd) show the reference to Ted (Michael Byrne) he decides to take control of the situation.
It's the day of the Webster's and Peacock's house swap and things are going well as they carry their things over to their respective new houses. But Claire (Julia Haworth) takes a call from the solicitor saying that Sally (Sally Whittaker) and Kevin's (Michale Le Vell) money has not been transferred and she calls the whole thing to a halt much to Sally's annoyance.
Teresa (Karen Henthorne) suggests to Jerry (Michael Starke) that she should stay a bit longer but, as Jerry seems to consider the idea, Mel (Emma Edmondson) tells him not to fall for it. She is still furious over what happened with Lloyd and insists she pack her bags and leave without delay.

But Sally (Sally Whittaker) has tampered with the fuses at number 13 and when Ashley (Steven Arnold) goes to fix them the whole fuse box blows leaving them in darkness. Kevin (Michael Le Vell) agreess to get Bill (Peter Arimtage) to have a look at it but the two couples are stunned when he tells them that the whole house needs rewiring.With nowhere to live until the job is done Claire (Julia Haworth) and Ashley are forced to accept Kevin's offer that they move back into their old house with him and Sally.
An irate Maria (Samia Smith) confronts Liam (Rob James Collier) after Carla (Alison King) has told her about the sale of the factory.
