This is a 2 part thread

I am trying so hard to exercise, diet I have working well but I can't seem to exercise on a regular basis. I do pole dancing on Mondays and I walk 20 mins to work everyday but I was exercising at home and it has gone out the window.. What motivates you to continue exercise

2nd question is: Slendertone.. has anyone used it and does it give the results you expect. I seen an add on tv about it and it seems to do what I need most, tone my tum and bum. Does it work??

I have got slendertone for tummy and bum, used the tummy one for a while and it did feel a little tighter. The one for the bum is difficult to put on and the pads are very expensive. Now I have not used them for ages as I keep forgetting to. :crying:

im useless at motivation when it comes to exercise! luckily i do netball twice a week and cheerleading 3 times a week when im at uni and cos its a team activity i always go. i should really go to the gym and do other exercise as well but im just so unmotivated when its just something im doing by myself. for me to be motivated it has to be a group session which is set for a particular time every week, when its just up to me i never end up doing it. i know thats not much help though, sorry!

I am of the mature age and get up at around 5.30 to 6. am and work full time, then I am the cook and cleaner etc., I find it very difficult to motivate myself to do exercise after all this. I try to do some exercise at the weekend though.

Is slendertone that thing that tones your abs? If it is then it won't work if you have a lot of flab on your belly. It will tighten the muscles but you won't notice much difference.

this is very similar to me.. I get up at 7 and work til 7pm.. I usually am so tired that I don't have energy to get motivate.. I spend weekends playing with the kids so I justify that as some form of exercise

I'm the same I'm up at 7am for work and don't get home until tea-time. By the time I have made the tea tidy up and got school bags and pack lunches ready for the next day I am knackered plus I am out twice a week taking Marley to Judo. I don't eat to badly I always have a breakfast and only eat at meal times. But it's the exercise or lack of it. I have joined a dance class but at the moment it's only once every two weeks as a taster. hopefully after the summer it will be a permenant activity but that depends on fudning and popularity at the moment we only have about 6 members.

Me and my friend joined the gym and went 2/3 times a week, slowly that faded out, BUT we shall be going more come September. I do exercises at home etc, but it doesnt seem to be toning me up, I feel like I'm doing something wrong!?

What motivates me? Vanity? Some desire for self perfection? What ever it is, I know I dont want to be fat or unhealthy so I force myself to do it every day, but when I see a stomach and no muscle building still I often wonder what the point is, I try and nothing comes about!

As for them ab training belts, I brought one last year, tried it for a bit, and they dont work - trust me. They put you through torture and do nothing! They wont peform miracles, you already have to be doing a hell of a lot of workouts/exericse for it to compliment i think.
