Mainly my left elbow often locks and I have to either click it back into place or twist it from side to side. It's a snapping sound when I click it back in (and that can't be good :p) After it's clicked it aches for a while. My right elbow does it as well but not often and it always unlocks by itself - like if I reach out to get something and don't realise it's locked. But the left one is quite bad. Once my whole family stared at me because it clicked so loudly. Recently my left thumb has felt like I have a small weight in the end of it at times - could I have trapped a nerve or something? :searchme:

My knees click a bit but don't lock. They also hurt when I walk up stairs just start aching, and I know I'm a bit unfit but it's the joint not the muscle :p

Anything I can do to help? Take some supplements for stronger bones or something? I want to try something else before I go see a Doctor really.

Bit of a long explanation sorry hope it's not too confusing :p Thanks in advance. :D

The Doctor is likely to give you excerise's to do, mainly stretching ones. I also click, but not as bad as my friend, who clicks like everywhere, and is in constant pain with it, ansd after many tests and stuff, all she has been given are the exercises to do. Which is a little crazy i would have thought there was more that could be done but apparently not.
But i suggest you go to your gp, so they can give you the right exercises to do, as you don't want to make things any worse.

my kneck, shoulder, feet and fingers can click, i love doing it lol, even though it's obviously going to be bad for my bones in the future

Apparently it gives you arthritis...I never mean to click though my elbow just locks on it's own :p

My friend has clicking knees, every time she bends and she clicks her fingers all the time, in between our exams like in the hall while we were waiting or our second paper, she was diagonally one seat behind me, se kept clicking her fingers, she admited it was to annoy me lol :p

yeah my driving instructor said whenever you do it, it causes friction which over time will dry up the fluids protecting your bones. I know i shouldn't but it feels so good! lol

You sound like my friend Matt, who clicks his back hands and neck, it makes me cringe and i slap him every time he does it lol

Clicking in joints when you move them is due to pockets of air in the joints.

Mine do it all the time, especially my right wrist. Its quite painful when I snap it back in. It got better after I went on iron tablets but its just as bad now, even though I'm still on them.

Erm, I dunno. Clicking in the knees could be due to lax ligaments in your legs. I have lax ligs and my knees wobble quite a bit.

If you are really worried about it go see your GP. Although we've probably all got conversion disorder now that Kasple has said she has clicky joints

Possible when you old, but i wouldn't worry too much, i don't think i know anyone that doesn't have at least one part of their body that clicks

i just have it in my knees as the bones are weak from sport and the hospital just gave me some exerises to do to try and strenghten them.

thats what my knee does, many a time i have been to scared to "ublock it" fortunatly my mates a nurse and she is quite good at it, but its soo painful.

I cant make them click myself though it just happens.

my legs always click, dont even realise most of the time that they need to click, if i bend down they click so loudly, everyone always makes a comment about it! i sometimes have to click them myself like if im sitting down and it feels like they need to be clicked then i just swing them backwards and forwards til they click. my knees lock as well a lot, especially my right one, and its so painful to unlock them i hate doing it. one time i couldnt actually unlock it and i had to go into hospital and they couldnt do it either, even after an operation on it! my fingers and back sometimes click too but not that often

you could go and see your doctor if youre worrided about it, but from my experience theres not really anything they can do
