Dr Lola leaving soon

SAY aloha to Dr Lola. Holby City’s Sharon D Clarke, who plays her, is off to pastures new.

She breaks the news that she wants to further her singing career to Paul O’Grady on his C4 show today.

Sharon has starred in West End shows and charted with Nomad and the FPI Project.

Shaz will appear as a judge on BBC1’s Last Choir Standing, alongside Russell Watson.

HOLBY CITY actress Sharon D Clarke is leaving HOLBY CITY.

Sharon, who has played Registrar Lola Griffin since June 2005, revealed on Paul O'Grady her decision to quit the show after a big storyline involving her character. She plans to her first love of singing and return to the stage.

Her music career began when she charted with dance group Nomad and the FPI Project. She has also had a successful career in the West End having appeared in numerous shows including We Will Rock You and Rent.

She is also due to appear as a judge on BBC One's new reality show 'Last Choir Standing' alongside Russell Watson.
