The broke butcher and wife Claire swap houses with the Websters, who live in the Ogdens’ old home.

But Ashley discovers a painting in the attic of No 13.

It has the name Ogden on the back and could be the work of famous Salford artist L.S. Lowry.

Ashley and Claire – Steven Arnold, 33, and Julia Haworth, 28 – think they could get £500,000 for it.

An insider said: “Ashley is so excited and convinced it’s real. But viewers will be left wondering just how real it is.”

Corrie legend Stan Ogden was played by Bernard Youens, 69, who died in 1984.

His wife, charlady Hilda (Jean Alexander, 82) was written out three years ago.

Good luck to them, is what I say. Sally Webster would not like that one little bit, which makes me like the idea a lot.

thats what i was thinking it was an age ago way before i started watching it. I love how they refer to old characters. I think its nice, brings some realism to the show.

if she sell the house contents and all ... if this story line is true and I'd love it if the painting turned out to be real, sally would have no claim over it.

I would love it to be worth a fortune and see Sally's turn green with envy when she doesn't get a penny.

You can just imagine her bawling "Kevin do something, That painting belongs to us"
