Ok so here is the situation. I'm transferring some downloaded tv shows to dvd discs.

Now I know I can easily copy them over to a dvd like i could to a cd, and that they can be played on the computer whenever i put the disc in

BUT

What would I have to do to get the videos stored on the DVD to play on a normal DVD player? would I need to use a special programme or something?

any help would be gratefully appreciated

Does your Dvd player not recognise the disc then?

If you have a fairly good DVD player it probably wont play them My good one doesnt yet a cheapo one I bought in Tesco plays neverything includin DIVx files. I think its something to to with the way the files are written to a DVD

I didn't think it was worth starting a whole new thread for this, and was just wondering how you actually get files to burn to DVD? I've tried on Windows Media Player and it won't go.

You need to have a DVD burner program on your computer/laptop and a drive that will write DVDs.

I use Nero for DVDs and CDs, it came already on the computer but if you don't have it you can download it from here: http://www.nero8-download.com/

All of my discs I make all work on any dvd player that i have at home, and there good dvd players aswell, my one it would work on anway as it supports Divx anyway but it even works on the portable ones we have
