Okay I need some help and advice here.
Marley my 9 year old is very active and loves her sports. A few weeks ago she was complaining of an ichy part at the side of her foot. There was a dry skin part with a bit of black in the middle of the skin. I thought it was a verruca and have been treating it with these verruca plasters from boots. This morning she woke up complaining that her left foot was really ichy and was scratching it over the carpet. When I looked at her foot it had about 15 red spots all over her foot and I have no idea what they are. I applied some calamine lotion to it as I can't see the nurse until monday. does anyone have any idea what these spots may be.
Are they bites? How big are they?

I don't know if they are bites. They are about 1 cm wide I thought it would be an infection she would have picked up as she does Judo twice a week and that is done in her bare feet also she plays a lot of sports at school.
Could she be allergic to the plasters? Connor is allergic to the savlon plasters and i remember him itching and when i removed there was a rash of small spots around where the sticky bits of plaster would have been. Although the spots thenwere quite tiny?
Have you checked the web on dyshidrotic eczema? There are some pictures you could compare with her foot to see if it looks like it.

could be a fungal infection, if she does a lot of sport her sweaty feet would be an ideal place for a fungal infection. you could always go to the chemist and show them, they would know and be able to give you the right cream.
I'm with pookie, I've had that and it was a fungal infection. I use daktakort, it's triple action. I hope it sorts soon!
im with pookie on this one. I had something similar because i dont like wearing socks. Doc gave me a cream for it cleared it up in about a week and ive never had it again

I don't think she is allergic to plasters as she has had plasters on before and never came out in a rash. I'm going to take her to the clinic tommorrow as they have a treatment room where a nurse can have a look at the spots and tell me how to treat them. Thanks for all your help and I'll let you know how I get on.

God what a day. I had an appointment for the practice nurse at 4.30 today. But she wasn't exactly sure what the spots were. She said it would be some kind of fungal infection and I should take Marley to see the doctor. The nurse phoned round to the reception and I got an appointment for 5pm. However we didn't get taken until quarter to six because there was some druggie in with the doctor giving him sob-stories. Anyway she has a load of verrucas on her foot and the reason they are red is because many of them are still under the skin. They have given me some oitment for her and I have to make an appointment for the wart clinic as she may have to have some of them frozen off.

Hope you get an appointment quickly and that they can help her, can't be nice having an itchy foot. :( Best wishes x

Is she in pain because of them? Seems strange how they suddenly appeared overnight.

They are sore and itchy. She has 1 verruca on the side of her feet and her she was complaining last week at the judo that her feet were itchy but when we looked at her foot there was nothing there so I just thought it was sweaty with the sports. The red spots are new verrucas coming up but they are still under the skin.
