The earliest surviving episode of ITV soap Crossroads has been found.
Experts uncovered the black and white 1965 programme in an unmarked tin in the ATV archive in West London.
It was previously thought that most of the shows from the '60s had been lost as they were usually taped over after being aired.
Archivists made the discovery while searching for classic episodes to include on an upcoming DVD.
They initially unearthed two reels of film from 1973 before coming across a third can, which was found to be episode 126 from 1965.
ITV.com's head of content Marc Webber said: "Crossroads will always have a place in people's hearts. People poked fun at it for its wobbly sets and bad acting but it continually attracted millions of viewers every week."
The soap, which was set in a Birmingham motel, ran from 1964 until 1988 and was briefly revived in 2001.
The 'lost episode' will be available online at ITV.com from Friday.
ok, hands up who will be watching this.
