Monday 19 May 2008

Doug (Duncan Preston) attempts to smooth the waters between Ashley (John Middleton) and Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), but Laurel reaffirms her detatchment from Arthur (Billy Harrower). The Bishop (Peter Cartwright) also hears about the split and warns Ashley about the difficulty of bringing up two young children alone. Ashley and Laurel do finally talk but when no common ground can be found, Laurel retreats to Betty's (Paula Tilbrook). Can Ashley cope without his wife?

Meanwhile, Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) is furious with Debbie's (Charley Webb) continued presence in Sarah's (Sophia Amber Moore) life and Jo (Roxanne Pallett) sends him over the edge with her defiance over the future of the goats. Later, Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) is worried when Jo is hospitalised with a broken wrist but Andy quickly explains that it was the result of a fall. Alone, Andy apologises to his wife, clearly the cause of her injury. Jo reminds him that he vowed never to strike her again, but is Andy's anger too fierce to contain?

Tuesday 20 May

Viv (Deena Payne) and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) lose custom and finance at the shop as the police invetsigation continues. Their private investigator arrives for an update and after he releases details of a key witness, Viv is keen to pay a visit. In spite of Bob's objections, Viv sneaks out of the café and interrogates the witness herself. The witness is adamant she has seen Viv at Freddie's house and orders her to leave. Back in the village, Bob realises Viv has lied to him and tracks her down at the house. With the witness' positive I.D of Viv swimming in his mind, Bob begins to doubt his wife. Is Viv truly the guilty party?

Elsewhere, with Val (Charlie Hardwick) busy preparing the Woolpack for the Village Pub of the Year contest, the Dingles take the opportunity to steal the pub's furniture. With her cleaning complete, Val notices the furniture has gone and storms straight round to the Dingles. However, refusing to reveal its location, the Dingles send Val packing and she is forced to borrow furniture from elsewhere. A judge soon arrives at the Woolpack and despite enjoying a meal, comments about the dodgy furnishings. Later, Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) is furious with Val and sends her sister round to pay the Dingles' ransom. Is Val likely to let her nemeses have the last laugh?

Thursday 22 May

Gray (Christopher Villiers) visits Perdy (Georgia Slowe) and she agrees to drop the custody petition in return for a part in the baby's life. On his return to the village, Gray broaches the subject with Katie (Sammy Winward) but she is adamant that Perdy will not be allowed access. Worried about Gray's silence, Perdy decides to visit the village herself and check on his progress. Gray discovers his wife's intentions and rushes round to stop her, leaving Katie in the lurch. Katie follows Gray to give him his briefcase, believing he has gone to see a client. However, she turns up at Perdy's apartment and is stunned to find Gray giving Perdy a goodbye kiss. What will Katie do about Gray's lies?

Also, after Ashley (John Middleton) questions the Dolands about Mel's (Caroline Strong) whereabouts, Jake (James Baxter) confesses to Greg (Shaun Prendergast) that he knows where she is. Greg finds his wife and encourages her to return to the village, insisting that they'll fight to keep Arthur (Billy Harrower). Back in the village, Ashley is relieved to see Mel has been found and orders the Dolands to have the DNA test. He is shocked to find that it has already been done and tells Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) about the current situation. Laurel is unmoved and berates Ashley for the hurt he's caused the Dolands. Ashley admits he wants them to have counselling, but will Laurel accept a reconciliation?

Meanwhile, after listening to Val's (Charlie Hardwick) exorbitant wedding plans, Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) jokes with Pollard (Chris Chittell) that he'd better have deep pockets. Taking Val aside, Pollard is pleasantly surprised when she tells him that the wedding need not put them in debt. However, her solution is merely to put hard cash into the wedding fund instead. Can Pollard prevent the onset of bankruptcy?


Friday 23 May

Katie (Sammy Winward) keeps her discovery secret from Gray (Christopher Villiers) and seethes when he continues to lie. Deciding to visit Perdy (Georgia Slowe), Katie launches a tirade against the two of them and warns Perdy she will never play a part in her child's life. Perdy breaks down and blames everything on Gray, warning her that he only cares for the child. Confronting Gray later, Katie explains that she's decided to allow Perdy access to the baby. With Gray satisfied, Katie later reveals to Chas her true intentions. Is Katie about to break the hearts of Gray and Perdy?

Meanwhile, Ashley (John Middleton) worries for Gabby (Annelise Manojlovic) when her behaviour worsens. When he explains the situation to Doug (Duncan Preston), Gabby slips out of the house and visits Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), pleading for her step mum to return. Laurel is deeply moved and decides to acquiese, much to Ashley's delight. But will the continuing issue of Arthur's parentage drive a wedge between them again?

Elsewhere, Jo (Roxanne Pallett) finds a buyer for the goats and Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) is pleased to be selling them. However, when Terry (Billy Hartman) receives a phone call from the Department of Health, Jo is delighted to hear that her produce was not the source of the Ecoli. In the middle of Andy's goat sale, Jo interrupts and announces that her animals are no longer for sale. Andy is furious and it seems like the problems for the warring couple are set to continue.
