Chatshow presenter being lined-up to replace Bruce Forsyth

Wednesday, 7 May 2008

Paul O’Grady is being lined up to host Strictly Come Dancing.

BBC bosses want him to take over from Bruce Forsyth, 80, who is expected to quit after the next series.

Paul, 52, is said to be leading the pack of possible contenders.

‘Everyone round here knows Brucie can’t go on forever,’ a source tells The Sun. ‘Even he’s started dropping hints that the next series might be his last. Paul is a definite favourite and would be brilliant.’

I am sure he will do a great job.

yes Paul would be good because he'd appreciate the old-school style but still have that tongue in cheek humour the show needs.

although i don't want Brucie to go!

I can't stand him, his voice gets on my nerves. Channel four can keep him.

Get Vernon Kay to do it with Tess, Husband and Wife would make a great team.

I just find both of them a bit sickly sweet, if you know what I mean? At least O'Grady makes slightly controversial statements ever so often, Vernon and missus never, they would not dare

I'd take Vernon over Paul any day.

Perdy what's wrong with Vernon he's a lovley young lad and Tess is a great presenter as well.

I just find them too sweet, the pair of them, can't really put my finger on it, I used to like Vernon when he first appeared on TV but now he is on so often, I have gone off him.

Here's a thought: John Barrowman would be excellent as presenter. With all his recent tv work he'll pull it off beautifully. Recently he's been on Torchwood, Oliver and This Morning to name a few.

John Barrowman can dance so he would be a good choice, What about Julian Clary.

Absolutely not!! Julian Clary is worse than Paul O'Grady

julian clary was fab when he was on the show (series 2, came third), i think he could be a good presenter.
i'm surprised no one has mentioned the truly obvious contender....Graham Norton, anyone?

I really like Graham Norton but I'm not sure he's suited for this show.

I like the idea of John Barrowman. Shame he's gay...

Lets put together Graham Norton and John Barrowman, why not have two presenters like Ant and Dec, who are very successful together? :)

I'm liking that idea. Maybe they'll be a bit too much together for the panel though.

I love Graham's laugh though :rotfl:
